ASUS would always release a NEW product/lineup as a mid to upper mid tier offering.
Once it is successful, they would then offer a good flagship
This has been their tactic ever since entering the mobile industry.
As such, don't be surprised once they come up with a new flagship by end of this year with the laser auto focus and 13MP front facing camera and LED equipped with fingerprint sensor.
However, I still feel like they are lagging behind their release dates for every flagship. Other OEMs would always release a new one first.
AnonD-143366, 07 Aug 2015Adreno 306 is a serious downgrade from powervr g6430, why asus? It has adreno 405.

Adreno 306 is a serious downgrade from powervr g6430, why asus?
Wow, both look pretty neat.
Zenfone 2 Deluxe is a beauty. If it is as shiny as the render then people will definitely buy it. Too good to be passed.
What's the silver something on the laser's back? The long thing directly under its camera?
what a shit... SN 410
The line up for asus is ready now in every segment for budget to luxury now we will see a big competion in markets.
AnonD-416293, 06 Aug 2015Also why is there Gorilla Glass 4 on the laser but not on the "deluxe" ? This world ... moreSimple. The one on deluxe is reused from old zenfone and the one on laser is brand new.
Seems like Asus is going the Samsung route... one phone for each feature. LOL.
Also why is there Gorilla Glass 4 on the laser but not on the "deluxe" ? This world makes no sense
Why they didn't put a metal trim around is beyond me, not much point of a removeable back without more options either.

1080p on a 5.5 inch screen? I've seen 1080 on such screens and it's terrible
In... moreThe only reason they were terrible was/is their color reproduction. At only 5.5 inches 1080p is almost the maximum the human eye can perceive at typical viewing distances (8-10 inches).
Any more and it's a waste of battery/resources.
So yeah that's probably their best choise. Can't the same about the SoC in question or the lack of Mhl...
