Also heard Nokia may skip Symbian^2 and go straight to Symbian^3 next year.
Isn't Symbian^1 already implemented in Symbian 9.4? Symbian^2 and Symbian^3 next year?
saw this coming but didn't know when but were is is the Eseries touch and QWERTY phone
Nokia really needs some cheap touchscreen phones. LG Cookie and Samsung Star are very popular phones.
Finally!
A while ago I was looking to buy a phone with no OS and touchscreen and to be cheap .... Looking at Nokia they had only 5800 and 5530 (too expensive for me at that time, and also the LAG even in menu didn't look so great, no kinetic scrooling for 5800)... I ended buying Samsung S5230 and I am very happy, battery life around 5-7 days, very responsive touchscreen, easy to use, document reader, TouchWiz is great.... Now I am intrested in an Android phone ... and I've heard that Nokia isn't going to release one (too bad for them, they would have suport from Google, was open sourced , great interface... and the OS was free, no need to pay programmers to create it, only to customize it).... Too bad for Nokia, up to 2010 Q2, Samsung and other manufacters will bring on market at least another 2-3 phones (liker Corby... cheap and usefull)... Maybe I will return to Nokia if they will release soon a cheap phone (150 Euro) with touchscreen, good battery life and wifi, if no, no problrem, there is HTC Samsung, even Motorola wating with great Android phones
Alright Nokia we are gonna take 2010 by storm ...
it said symbian^1 will be out as in phase out...thats wht i understand from it
S40 with qwerty keyboards and touchscreens
Nokia gets scared from Samsung Corbys..... :)
Where in the source did it indicate Symbian^1 to be released in the first half of 2010 and Symbian^2 to be released at the end of 2010. Isn't Symbian^1 already released as it incorporates S60v5. From what I read, the source indicates Symbian^3 and Symbian^4 to be released in 2010 with the updated UI.
Maemo wasn't good enough for Nokia?? S60 needs a lot of work and they want more for S40, seems they want to do everything at the same time and thats why their OS feels unpolished and outdated, they need to focus on the new Symbian, leave the guys of Maemo work freely and minimize loses
i hope nokia get better camera with cyber shot & xenon flash i hope this taken in new consederation
the only thing that spoils the querty keypads mobiles is it makes the phone more heavier an to broad, until Nokia can change to thinner mobiles then the Querty keypads will keep loads away from purchasing these mobiles,an the dual sim card ones will be made in China a cheap way out from Nokia, but loads of fakes will be made of any model,so loads will end up buying the fake one instead of the Genuine one
S40 is more reliable and virus free...
too bad it didn't support the multitasking.
Jeyy!!! Finally a dual SIM phone coming (I hope Nokia learned from their mistakes, looks like they're taking it seriously and doing whatever it takes to keep their costumers).. I'm looking forward into S60 dual SIM if only Nokia could make.. I'm not really into S40:( An upgrade of Nokia 5730 or smnth.. Anyways I'm an 5800 user, so... only time will tell:P
good move nokia! will also be waiting for dual-sim capactive touchscreen with qwerty symbian :)
:D :D took Nokia this long to understand that they should go for dual SIM touchscreen phones... but I am eagerly looking forward to it because it is from NOKIA... the best cellphone manufacturer...
I am delaying my purchase of a branded dual sim phone for you Nokia. If your dual sim handset doesn't show up by the time stated, I'll buy the current branded one. (By that time, that branded one will come up with a newer model. They are very quick.)
Anonymous, 29 Dec 2009This is nonsense nokia fabricate this kind of advertising's to make us hope, so we don't run a... moreI totaly agree, that things are taking too long, if it whas up to nokia we would problaby not have touch until today, it seems like they do things just not to lose cunsumers because other companies are pusing there products further but if they see a drop in there cunsumer money then they sudenly know verry wel how to speed things up its easy to see that they have the technology when using there products and seeing there stratigic plans well maby someday i'l move over, for now its my 5800's good audio quality..
A new year approaches, however, there is alot of work to be done by NOKIA. Having the a greater portion of the cellphone market requires constant development and more can be done. This approach is to wet the appetites of mobile lovers and the existing competitors. Congrats NOKIA and we anticipates the gifts of the new year.
