There is a difference between CyanogenMod and Cyanogen OS, they are different companies. CM is much much better than Cyanogen OS and I am pretty sure they don't make stupid comments like this. Only a company that runs solely for profit makes such comments. CM is more of a developer work for the people.

I have no idea if their claim is factual or not and I don't care. It's just unecessary bragging. I used to like CM before it became to be Cyanogen Inc.. The CEO is quite arrogant, spews out BS regularly and screw over an OEM partner for profit.
My problem is, I like Android but not Google, therefore the idea of CM is great. A non Google Android OS. I'm therefore considering to switch to Sailfish OS, which seems like a worthy contender, but they lack OEM partnerships. I'm not a fan of the Jolla phone, so my other choice is manually installing and dual-booting on an existing Android device, which is not ideal. Very buggy in my experience.

CM is a good os. It has some bugs but smooth and stable for daily usage. It is for android enthusiasts not for beginners. I like it better than stock roms.

Tell that os to beat blackberry in terms of security
Microsoft is used by almost everyone as a computer os.
Blackberry is even used by presidents
and plus both of them have created their own softwares Cyanogen are using another mans invention to boast.

I think what they ment was their user base is larger than Windows phone *or* Black Berry. And that is working on the past figures from Aduplex which stated that Windows Phone had 50mil users.

Should not be too proud that they beat Windows Mobile and BB OS. After all, their OS is just an Android based OS and not really their own.

A beta was leaked few days ago and some have already successfully installed Android apps. But it seems push notifications are not working. Lets wait and see for the final. A note to you guys. This is not an app for regular users but for app developers to convert apps quickly to windows phone apps.

Yes, normal. OEMs like Samsung, LG, HTC don't support old phones, so those are stuck with old Android versions, and most of them don't want to switch to a new phone, and CM is the saviour for those phones, with a newer version of Android.
But that doesn't eliminate the fact that CyanogenMod is practically garbage, full with bugs. Those who are on flagship phones, it's just a joke.
