samsungfanboi, 16 Aug 2015People who are complaining regarding the 4k are samsung fanboys who are insecure because samsu... moreIm an S6 user which has a 2K screen.
If I want to see the pixels I need to use a magnifying glass.
4K is pointless and no i'm not jealous if there was a S6 version with 4K i'd still go for the standard.
That being said technology has and always will improve.

It means nothing more than an energy hungry screen ! You'll need a 6000 mAh battery to make such a thing work for a day or two, sorry friend I prefer sticking to Full HD or even 720P, as said by other users no one can tell the difference. If that was a TV screen, I would say that more resolution means more details, but that doesn't apply to a smaller 5.5" device.

As long as mobile phones' screens are not bigger than 5.7", the normal user won't notice any difference in the display's quality, by the way I bet anyone to be able to distinguish Full HD from 4K ! What we have actually is fairly enough, I mean these are phones not TV screens, just another commercial argument to sell more units.

Oh and don't forget that more resolution means more energy consumption, sorry I'd better stick to the old 720P.

AnonD-393757, 14 Aug 2015What do you mean? Why? One particular fact that human eyes at 10" distance from object only capable to discern pixel up to somewhere around 447 ppi max (Soneira Ph.D.) Above that the eye couldn't tell the pixel density difference unless you put your device closer than 10".

Tough, cognitive bias due to some marketing might shows make you believe you can tell tell the difference.

People who are complaining regarding the 4k are samsung fanboys who are insecure because samsung doesn't have a 4k yet in phone category.

Is sony insane? 800ppi?! Why on earth they would do it? it's unnecessary!

Ok, so this could be an exaggeration on the part of Sony, but admit it, it's becoming the norm that people will choose the phones with over the top specs. Sony is just after how they will attract buyers and increase their sales. Sometimes, no matter how much we justify the power requirements of these monster specs, people won't realize it. And even if we insist that fhd is sufficient, most buyers find it a bit of a slouch esp. when 2k screens in mobile were introduced. Those who do not know the pros & cons of the over the top specs will think Always that higher is better even if it is not in most cases. Sony just have to follow what most people want to be in track. But i also understand the point of most people here, though sadly, very few are like them in reality.

Haha.. 4K screen for a tiny 5.x" screen phone? What for? Drain more power to create more CO2 to our already suffering planet Earth? Sony must be very desperate, but it is very stupid of them.

In fact UNFCCC Kyoto Protocol treaty should add this insane smartphones speed & tech races to their agenda, and to limit smartphone manufacturer to design a new phone below a set power consumption to make our planet more greener and a better place to live in. Any mfg violated the rule, should be punish with heavy fine.
