It's clear that Lenovo is trying to strengthen it's mobile brand by giving us the K3 Note.. a stunning high-end spec phone at cost price... much like Motorola did with the original moto g. And even I've been swayed to purchase an import of the K3 in favour of upgrading to the 3rd gen of the moto g due to the price increase. Lenovo have also realised that through Motorola they can give themselves better and almost instant international appeal in the smartphone sector. As far as profits stand this is a wise move as most people upgrade their phones every 12-24 months in-line with their contract, whereas you would only update your pc or tablet every 5-10 years.
this is interesting...motorola was the first mobile device maker got purchased by google then it ended in lenovo hands good company after all but they did the right chice .... lenovo devices looks good many of them but motorola name is heavier ... would be great to have better design of devices... but keep the same stock version. the only slowdown noticed is the fast trck update moto used to have..since it left google hands even by having stock software the updte speed became really slow...that was key selling point i hope lenovo and motorola rethink again with what they are doinf and the reason because moto g became number 1 in midrange sales too.
If manufacturers, all of them read these posts they should realise the future battles for profits will depend upon service and not hardware.
Super fish to blame.
Well it never really made sense, for them to make both lenovo and motorola phones, that sat in the same part of the market. If they used one brand in certain regions. Or if they used one brand for the lower part of the market, and another for the higher end...
Lenovo doesnt have much of a brand value were I live, Motorola, slightly better though.

Got the 910 when it came out, and that's it, no support, no nothing, the phone is good for the price, but after sales sucks! Not going to buy another Lenovo, so this company is going down not surprise me, no repeat customers.
terrible and quite heavy ui, millions of different models and non-existant software support. people don't need another samsung.
Lenovo got a big chance do share Samsung fate.... Badly falling profits.... Like Samsung, instead of focusing on innovation they focusing on who to copy.... People are smart and realised that instead of paying a lot of money for a copy like Samsung phones its better to buy for example cheap Xiaomi copy etc...

its good, lenovo phone UI suck anyway . .
i dont know what this means but i hope dont happen the same who happen with Nokia & Microsoft...Nokia has dead, and now Lenovo have the almost same idean tha Microsoft...
Lenovo and Motorola is exelent brands but when comes to choose one of them i dont have opinion because i like both, the design, the image and everything, but i think one of them will go away, and Lenovo should do priority to Motorola name and not her name!
So thinking this way i sure know Lenovo brand (in phones) will die like Nokia die when brought by Microsoft!
Based on this article I can conclude that Lenovo stop making phone and leave it to Motorola because they focus on PC. So, thats mean smartphone from Motorola will be branded as Motorola or Lenovo? Or Motorola by lenovo I guess.
Google has created a very tough market for Android OEM's. I believe Google could save other from this situation by limiting Android's availability or in some other way. It's only Samsung who is making making from Android, rest all are struggling in this lucrative looking market.
They may sell more phones than others but the profit margin is very small. Same goes to all other Chinese handset makers. That's why they and others like huawei xiaomi and zte are trying to move to high end phones where profit margin is bigger.
Wonder if the tight finances have had any effect on the quality of the new handsets coming out from Moto.
A wise decision made by Lenovo. Except that the Lenovo's smartphones were cheaper than Motorola and had a good quality-price ratio. But anyway Motorola = Lenovo so I wish you Good Luck in years to come !!!
with useless software for its mobiles what else can we expect, wise decision to let Motorola handle it after all its the same company. Lenovo should only do their laptops.
