Its not like Apple users have any basic knowledge of what they are getting hardware wise, apple could just reduce RAM to 512MB and the apple sheeps would still buy it. So no its not a mistake.

Neither does a Quadcore CPU even remotely compare to an i5 desktop. IOS is an extremely basic OS. That's why it can cope with 1GB RAM.

iPhone 3S: Greater output. (Sound, Better camera. More RAM (256 MB. wow. -_-) New color. White.
iPhone 4: Redesign. Flatter design and thinner. More ram (0.5 GB.) Retina display.
iPhone 4S: Siri, 8 MP camera, 4 communication antennas. (compared to 3 on iPh4.), Double CPU processor.
iPhone 5: Screen grows: it's 4 incher now (640x1136) New connector. Headset jack moves down. RAM doubles once more to 1 GB)
iPhone 5S: Fingerprint sensor. (TouchID) Dual tone, New color: Gold.
iPhone 6: Screen HUGELY grows to 4.7", gets a brother called 6+ (5.5"), NFC.
iPhone 6S: (According to what we know right now) Screen sensetive to force of touch, Better cameras, New color (Rose Gold), and RAM that is either 2 GB or 1 GB. certainly of DDR4 type.
That's the changelog of iPhones starting from the 2nd gen of iPhones.

There is 0% credibility to this source whatsoever. Unnamed sources usually are verified by trustworthy outlets for leaks, and has been for years. There are thousands of bloggers who try to fake "leaks" to get more hits or followers every day-- from unbelievable things like saying it'll have holographic displays to foldable screens to believable ones like spec bumps or tests. Unnamed bloggers like this one are generally NOT to be trusted as literally ANYONE can take 15 minutes to fake this and post it to Instagram.
Since not even the usual major leak outlets have heard anything specific about specs that back this up, there is no reason to believe this is a legitimate source. It doesn't mean it's not possible, just that this is an incredibly untrustworthy source and in the past, leaks like this are 95% usually wrong.

There are web pages that can allocate 2-300 mb RAM. Obviously, Apple will re-design the Internet by then. Or should I say they will tell you "you don't need to visit such pages on your phone"

they took so many years to bring basic features to iphone which existed long back on android.
they gonna bring 2gb ram in 2020.
using apple products is like being in a jail...u will only be given the food that the jailor decides.
while andorid is like a buffet....u can get anything u want.
