This is good for LG. However, they'll need to set their sights higher. Exynos has already evolved, matching LG's best results while in power saver mode.

[Excerpt]
A leak coming from China has revealed an image showing the benchmarking results of Mongoose. In short, its makes Exynos 7420 look like a mid-ranged SoC. According to the details coming from the source, the chipset is surprisingly going to feature a quad-core processor instead of an octa-core CPU. However, this is where things get really interesting. The clock speed for each core is 2.4 GHz, and Mongoose is able to obtain the following scores.

Single-core test: 2,136 points
Multi-core test: 7,497 points

Additionally, the source also mentioned that when the device running the SoC is running at a power-saving mode, the handset will automatically downclock in order to save as much juice as possible. Given below are the benchmarking results when the processor clocks down.

***Power-saving mode***
Single-core test: 1,698 points
Multi-core test: 5,263 points

***Super power-saving mode***
Single-core test: 1,323 points
Multi-core test: 3,489 points

hehe..3 times the power of exynos 7420?!..erm note like about 10% more powerful. . But on 26nm against 14nm of exynos...

By the time this is available. .The new exynos chip with custom cores will be available (early 2016) which is 1.5x more powerful in both single and multi thread! Our had a score of 75k over the exynos 7420s 50k! Samsung have the best chips at the moment. .deal with it!

      Hi folks at GSMA,
I have no idea how you have derived the statement "A new leaked benchmark allegedly gives us a preliminary glimpse at what LG has achieved thus far and it is impressive to say the least, boasting over three times the performance of the Galaxy S6." .....?????!!!!!!!!!!
I can see the leaked benchmark showing that the chip is on par with the Galaxy S6's performance, but not Thrice as you have stated in the article. If you watch carefully they are single thread and multi thread scores side by side. Please update the same.
      Thank you :)

Start making recyclable plastic LG, that's what you might do decently. Low Grade nonsense company, now trying to make a chip! Hilariously funny, and sad.

They aren't overstated, but the problem is that this chip is planned for late "16.
