dlads, 19 Aug 2015Actually not 100% true, sure you need the hardware but you also need to make use of it. Just b... moreFFS USB Type-C connector is just that, A CONNECTOR!
You don't need anything other than the CONNECTOR (because it's retro-compatible with USB2.0 and USB3.0), you can have it even with existing phones and a converter cable.

What you are confusing is the Type-C connector with the new features it may (or may not) have.

I thought it would be called M&M! haha. Marshmallow is fine though.
It's funny seeing a lot of you wondering when it will hit your device.. What's funnier is that you probably already know and you're in denial. If it's not a Nexus.. then pull up a chair and be prepared to wait lol Only Nexus devices and pure android devices will get it soon, the rest will have to wait especially the one's with heavy 3rd party skins.. i'm looking at you Samsung & LG! haha

I gave up trying to find an Android device i could use as my daily driver.. i bought a Blackberry Passport and called it a day.. it will be my daily for another 2 or 3 years easy.

I also own a Nexus 10 so i am kind of excited to see what the new version brings! No more Android phones for me though the smartphone race is getting ridiculous lol Until something truly amazing comes around i'll stick to my Blackberry..

ZZ, 18 Aug 2015android is going down in the years to come. repl,aced by a real os with no security holes and ... moreLol. Without security holes? That's cute. Is that like when people try and claim iOS or Wp are perfect without any lag, crash, or bugs?

This thing is strictly related to the hardware, the OS has nothing to do with it, just like the guy you tried to act smart towards already said, or what, you think the few devices already released with type C on Lollipop are not actually real because only M has "Type C" in it's change list, really?

Anonymous, 18 Aug 2015Free ram = wasted ram.Free RAM != Available RAM
Free RAM should be used for caches and buffers (to make the system run faster) but not enough *available* RAM will make the system run poorly.

My Xperia ZR is now running 5.0.2 Lollipop and it's blazing fast! And it's constantly with 700MB+ of ram available. Multitasking is very fast and reliable!
I do use my smartphone. I sell online, and like using several services, even an Anti Virus (Avast). It's a very good and nice device.
Battery life is good. Almost 5 hours of screen on.

So, no I don't need Android M. Sony has done enough for my ZR.

Thanks.

Anonymous, 18 Aug 2015It has dominated the smartphone markets for years - it's obvious that it can't go on forever a... moreIs it? Windows has been the dominant PC OS for 20 years, and I can safely say it will remain so for the next 20. Windows has no real competitors. OS X is way inferior and only available on apple hardware and Ubuntu and other linuxes are not even worth mentioning.
The same goes for Android on phones. iOS is only for a specific group of people and it even starts losing ground to Android because it not only caught up with apple, but is now much more advanced(every feature apple brought in iOS 8 and 9 was copied from Android). Windows phone is basically trashware. So, Alphabet just doesn't have any competition
