I'm waiting for these phones since last year! WTH! But... Honestly, I think this is gonna be a fail project. Because, most people don't just swap HDD for a SSD, or a single band WiFi card for a dual band one. They just simply buy another PC. Still, I'll support this project, I think google will continue with it.

CPU cannot support 4k 120fps processing. But bought a 4k 120fps capable camera.. end up have to upgrade everything.

Not to mention the phone will look bulky.

Just a thought. It reminds me of the PC desktop upgrade era.. when it comes to truly upgrade your machine.. you most likely have to dump everything.. casing / cpu / main board / ram.. as they are also obsolete, and the legacy ram / parts cost a bomb to upgrade compared to buying new parts.

But then again, you can shave off some cost.. but time will tell.

If you are looking for another market to launch Ara in, then launch it in Canada. A device like this is great for the environment. Not to mention you can upgrade everything on the endo skeleton. Ultimately making a device like this to last a long time. Google please think about launching it sooner.

It's just that, I cannot deny the fact that most people compare one phone from another with regards to its individual specs. I know apple has the best OS since it is very stable even though it has only a certain number of ram. But technically speaking, we are actually looking some great changes of a new phone worth the price being announced.

A company that cares, take into account all the factors to make the best device. are willing to discard the best for the optimum hardware that ultimately improve the user's experience BASE on the product's main purpose. (etc. purpose as a phone? ultra portable laptop?).

A company that does not care, simply just dump whateva is out there and throw to end consumers. So you end up with gpu that cannot drive the screen.. or cpu that overheats that trying to overtake its competitors, or a 7 inch tablet that claims to be a phone.. and provide no means to function like a phone.

The race here is to build the best phone. Not to brag the best specs. Results, performance and purpose are top consideration for Apple. Any other, bragging / specs / popularity / peer pressure are all secondary.

I will buy this hot-swapable components smartphone. Truly living to its name of being a real 'smart'phone. They should launch this in Japan. Creative Japanese might abke to innovate and modify it to look better with casing and others. Casing would be great to avoid the component to fall off.

I hope it will be sold also here in the Philippines ASAP. This would be the most amazing phone on this present time(My opinion). We can upgrade its feature without throwing away the entire phone. Love it.. That is what we called INNOVATION apple.. Not the price that keeps being innovated wyl specs is stupidly the same.. lol.. lmfao
