Having a non removable battery makes it easier for the service center or manufacturer to charge more for the repair.
It is and isn't about the money. I can certainly afford the repair. This doesn't mean I should have to pay for such nonsense.
Let's also equate the time out of a busy schedule to be detained at the center for the repair and/or mileage to service centers.

Charging each customer extra money for these repairs, has allowed the industry to command an extra 29 billion dollars in profits just in the last three years.
Apple has led the way for such idiocy.Should a premium device run our lives like this?
I don't remember any expensive product ever not having a removable battery until the last several years.
The battery is the most failed component on a electronic device.
With a 700-$1000 phone, I shouldn't have to be rendered useless by a battery.
Charging ports break. Removing the battery allows a person to desk top charge it until phone is repaired or the person returns home from trips to repair it.
Batteries swell. It is advised to visually check them every 4-6 months before internal damage to the phone is done(cracked boards, solder connection points etc.).
Everyone seems to have an excuse for sealing batteries. Especially the manufacturers.
As a technician that works around batteries for my day job, everyone is underestimating the issues that batteries provoke on these expensive devices.
Issues that may not seem to be battery issues, can in fact, be a simple battery issue solved by just removing and replacing it.

As a service technician, I have a pledge to help the industry improve on and deliver great products but, also make them customer friendly and serviceable.
I hear it everyday how people are not liking the direction but feel they have no choice left. This means sales are done by surrender rather than willful choice.
Even from my diehard Apple crowd. They wish they could have a removable battery rather than having to hit up the service center for every little thing.

AnonD-270570, 19 Aug 2015Well the storage might be an issue for you if you aren't active cloud user and don't want to s... moreI am an active cloud user (sugarsync and dropbox) but there are a few issues.

    1) In Australia you dont have 100% mobile coverage outside of cities and towns.
    2) There are no unlimited data plans (1-6GB per month are typical). Some areas have 4G, others are still 3G.
    3) I dont want to waste time and data downloading a 1GB + movie
    4) i use a lot of mapping data for work and recreation (NSW topos alone are pushing 60GB). Using cloud data for these files simply wouldn't work.

Down the track when there are unlimited data plans and near 100% coverage cloud will probably work well. By then devices will have 128GB+ options available anyway (apart from Samsung which will still sell 32GB as the main option).

      1) GN4 has a larger removable battery
      2) GN4 has micro SD card
      3) GN4 has more grip
      4) GN4 survives drop tests better
      5) GN4 has IR blaster
      6) GN4 has heart rate & UV sensors

Even i tried explaining ppl here that if samsung wanted they cud have given note5 and edge+ higher capacity battery (may b 4000 mah) but it wud've made the phone bulky and heavy along with the metal built but ppl here just don't understand.
And ppl who can't live with external sd cards or ppl who want cheap memory expansion got disappointment.
btw i am also missing the IR remote control on note5 and edge+.

AnonD-270570, 19 Aug 2015It's not the downgraded version of Note 4, it's better than note 4 in every aspect and the bes... moreI think you are wrong. Note 4 is better than this new shiny toy. Two simple reasons. I dont need to charge my note 4 at all, it goes from 5% to 100% in about a minute, thats how long it takes me to swap batteries. Because of that my phone was connected to charger only few times since i bought it. Second is the fact that my sd card has twice as much capacity as biggest available memory in this phone. And i still get 32GB extra on top of that. I could also say that i dont need any covers on my phone because of leather like back which gives good grip. And of course it wont break that easily if i drop it. There is many reasons to dislike what samsung did to new galaxy phones and very little to be happy with the changes. Unless you are looking for fashion accessory then i guess its all good. I need a tool and entertainment machine so new galaxy phones are huge disappointment for me.

Why just 4000 you'd say I want 10000 mah power bank in my phone, but being practical they kept the phone slim and sexy and still gave a better 3000 mah battery which will last longer than its 3200 mah predecessor. There's no better phone available in the market

People buy iPhones because it meets their needs/wants (this goes beyond the mere processor speed, pixel counts, etc...). These Samsung phones do not.

Samsung is about to report yet another quarter of declining profits; two years straight.
