I just don't undestand why can't they offer such a great hardware for their OS.
look at their line , except passport ,all are underpowered and dated hardware.

I don't like external keyboards too. But it looks really nice. Lets wait for a full review of this phone.

Why?.. Because a touchscreen phone have best of both worlds. You can attach a bt keyboard if you wish. But you can never remove the physical keyboard attached to a keypad phone.
BB is so lacking in innovation. They should have being the first to invent the diaper keypad.. not Samsung.

Well done BlackBerry! Although not a fan of physical keyboards and owner of mostly Apple devices, this one (Venice) is a sleek blast from the past, done the right and 'modern' way! I really hope that it will help you to recover some of that shaky ground that you've been standing on for quite a while now...!

Android isn't here because of lower prices, as BB will never be able to compete in price with a multitude of emerging Chinese manufacturers, neither they ever made any intention of competing in price.
First and before all this is a smartphone, not a feature phone. In 2015 smartphones need to run all the latest killer apps, not just the manufacturer's own apps.
You just can't get anything close to the Android ecosystem without sticking a bitten apple logo in back -- deal with it!
Android lacks on the business side, BB still has traction on the business side. It's the sanest move I've seen in years, unlike the half-assed attempted of running Android apps within BBOS (which everyone knew beforehand it was doomed to fail due to the lack of the Google Services framework, a requirement to the majority of Android's killer apps).

The best qwerty phone i've ever use is the great Nokia E71. Aftet that I shift to Nokia 5800 then Xperia Ray.
However, I missed using qwerty phone. I own Blackberry Z10 and Xperia ZL now. The venice looks great and I think it will be a good replacement for my Z10 and Z5plus for my ZL.
Stop bashing Venice.
No other company offering slider flagship right now.

Besides this, it is kinda sad that BB has to drop the quality (i.e. use Android) in order to have lower prices for their phones, so that they can continue having business.

When the article said short glimpse, it really is too short to even call it a glimpse. I didn't even get to see the phone screen in the first promo video.

Other than the fact it's BB so it will be insanely costly and arrive late -- when SD808 is already "past-gen", it actually looks like a very good proposition (and I'm not even a fan of physical keyboards, but this one gives choice and is pretty well achieved).
I remains to be seen how their Android flavor actually is and, in the end, being a pure Android may be the thing that hurts its sales most their BB loyal customers (will they be able to see this is the future? Questionable... they have kept using BBs for f*#$s sake!)

The slider category has so much utili... moreIt's proven that you can actually type faster on on-screen keyboard than physical keyboard because the keys are just too small that your fingers or thumb sometimes cant hit them right. Dust and other particles can also get inside the keyboard. If water gets on the keyboard then it might get damage and over time the keys might get damage from constant pressing and typing. But the main factor is probably because it cost more to add physical keyboard aswell as making the device very thick.
But BB is doing it right by adding physical and on screen keyboard, even so apple and Samsung aswell as other Chinese manufacturers are dominating the market share that it will be hard for BB to become successful.
