The guy there didn't even know where / how to insert the SIM card properly, and was speechless to describe the advantages other than "it runs on Android 2.0".
So what's Android 2.0? How is it better than 1.5/1.6? He didn't have a clue.
Indeed, the carrier also "mess around" the Milestone to have more pages of widgets....yet it caused problems for its customers as sending SMS in Chinese became odd characters...and the problem persisted for over 2 weeks.
Some also commented due to the "modification", the Vodafone version is slower / lags behind other Milestone.
Maybe I should thank the salesperson who wasn't able to persuade me to get one at the spot, otherwise I'll definitely regret.
PS. I remember when my contract was about to end with Vodafone, the salesperson said "such is your LAST CHANCE to renew your contract with us"....guess the person must be a genius to figure out 4 other carriers (3 of them offering 3G) offering competitive prices and service, and why should I bother to stay with the company who didn't allow me to purchase replacement handset at a discount (like other competitors)?
i dont understand i thought the 1st google phone was the g1 on tmobile made by htc anybody know why this is being marketed as the 1st google handset?

Why menu people talk nonsense, calling this phone as a "super phone" when is not, and it can not be..., first of all it does not have front camera and fm radio, and is not only CPU MHz by numbers that make powerful device, so here you will sea droid device only 800MHz but better than this of 1000MHz..., see for your self guys.

you really have no idea what you are talking about . There are people in the Vodafone stores that could run rings around you with their level of knowledge. Muppets like you (keyboard warriors) should get a life. the only human contact you have is with the pizza delivery boy cos your too scared to venture out into the real world. really get a life rate the handset and stop slating the guys that work bringing you the handsets you want. Tmobile and O2 declined the handset when approached by Google.

the nexus is the nex-us best thing to the i-phone, the dissapointing factor is that it will only be supported by vodafone in the UK, who will be taking advantage of its exclusitivity and over pricing the device on its contractual agreements. to all iphone users hold your breath as this is only temporary. let the googs play with their googles, apple is going to SLATE this one in the spring!
again hitting the nail into the coffin for all other mobile manufacturers.
remember an apple a day keeps the dr's away. !
Voda are going to ruin this. This will be akin to giving a masterpiece to a toddler to look after. What makes me laugh is there FAQ saying they are the "smart home of the smartphone" jesus, what a joke. For the reasons quoted in another comment, this is going to kill a beautiful flower. T-mob shipped the G1 massively, why are we beinf overlooked... :(

I am so glad that in Russia we can buy any phone we want and use it with any of operators providing service here....
why bother shipped sim-free to the u.s. when t-mobile is the only carrier that support the 1700 3g. it would makes more sense to make it with 850 3g support so that other carriers could utilize it for the high price, such as att customers.
hi you lucky people in the uk with the nexus, could you tell me if it is multi-touch enabled.i might order one this week!!!!
Why is everyone so surprised at the price? I think most people have never seen unsubsidized prices, because it's no more expensive than a top of the line nokia, and a damn site cheaper than the JPhone.
4man, 08 Jan 2010Oh my gosh! when can i beat this man always come first....anyway when is this iphone killa com... moreI believe Smart are going to have the exlcusive contract with this phone just like Globe has with iPhone. But it will take at least 6 months to reach The Philippine shore!
When will the nexus ship to Italy ?
How much????
They have to be kidding - £400 GBP or so? That's nuts, even if it is the world's best phone there is no way I'd buy one at that price, especially as every other maker will have something similar in play by the end of the year. We've all reached an age now where handsets are disposable commodities with built in obselescence - who wants to pay £400 every 18 months? Not me, I'll stick with threatening to leave my network every 18 months unless they give me the upgrade of my choice for free. It's all a numbers game and they want to keep my business. Remember that when dealing with phone companies.
Who wants to bet that there is a rush for this device? Then vodafone will claim 'Not enough supply' because they under-ordered. Cancel people's pre-orders, be all high-and-mighty and bully more users into their abysmal 360 device or the iphone 3GS??
And then claim the nexus is 'business only'.
Vodafone dropped X2, they pretty much killed HTC Touch pro2 and HD2, the are not bothering with Milestone, or X10. They BARELY were able to supply the N97 (now fully replaced by the mini).
Vodafone UK have a terrible handset philosophy. Especially as it is iphone dominated now, three years too late, to the detriment of every other interesting device out there.
Finally oh i am second
NO!!!
Oh my gosh! when can i beat this man always come first....anyway when is this iphone killa coming to the Philippines?..
