this handset looks promising even compared to the nexus one, but the price tag is a huge downside, a 300 dollar premium on top of the nexus one with a older OS @ 1.6, and no multi-touch function, it looks great tho, maybe in 2-3 months after it's release a price drop and a updated OS will prove a outstanding handset over the nexus one, but as it sits right now it's overpriced

Six months ago this would have been great. But now it's not so special anymore. It's specs are about the same as the Nexus One, with a better camera and slightly bigger screen (not necessarily a good thing).

Besides that it has half the RAM (256 vs. 512), runs Android 1.6 (vs. 2.1) and costs an extra $300US...uhh, yeah, good one SE.

This is what happens when you're slow to push things out the pipeline.

I actually consider the customised SE UI a downside... it would have been better if they had simply contributed to the main Andriod source.

I have the money saved now for a while. I was sure the N900 was for me, then this bad boy was leaked! If this lives up to the hype it has stirred up, and for Sony Ericsson, i hope so, it will kick some ass and I for one will be parting with over half a g!It will have to have 2.0 at least on release thought!!!!!!! Sony Ericsson, PLEASE DON"T LET US DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like this phone, but there are 5 things that will keep me from getting one.

                1. Too much.
                2. Android 1.6 (come on, why not 2.1 or at least 2.0)
                3. 64k colors only (color banding would be eminent)
                4. Don't want to lose downloaded apps on my iphone.
                5. Internal memory is too small

Other than that, this phone really rocks. But in my case, I'm better off waiting for the next gen iphone.

                    This has become a seriously hard choice... N1: 512MB, x10: 256MB, N1: ugly, X10:gorgeous, N1: cheap, X10: expensive, N1: Android 2.1, X10: Android 1.6, N1: so so camera, X10 appears to be awesome camera, N1: possibility of WifiN, X10: dnla, N1: 800x480, X10: 854x480, N1: 11.5mm, X10: 13.5mm thick.

Most things point to the N1 as better but the X10 is just so sexy and I like it's camera. Damn.

SE is a big player. no matter how you say it in the end you'll get one. look at the Sony laptops. it's standing pretty firm with cool design and metal cover. now, if only sony come out a phone with carbon sheet then i'll buy no matter how priced.

                          How much?! WTF?!!

Announce a phone model but release it 1-2 years later, so at its release date, it's already OVERPRICED and OUTDATED!

No wonder SE is doing badly financially!

£550? So this costs almost 3 times as much as a PS3! As soon as you buy a new X10 and walk out of the shop, depreciation means it's now worth £400, in a few months it's now worth £350, and so on. People really have more money then sense these days...

Thank goodness SE used a 3.5mm audio jack on the XPERIA X10 and not that irritating fastport I have on my SE phone. But for one or other reason they have omitted an FM radio. For this reason I will rather buy the HTC Tattoo or a Nexus One.

Rogers wireless in Canada has announced Carrying the X10 for Q-2 Exclusive in Canada.

I think for what it's capable of the phone is well worth it. And I'd rather wait and have things work then end up with a faulty system.

It's a very ambitious task creating this kind of handset give them a break, they aren't spitting out an LG Neon here.
