no love for mini n97 update
Anonymous, 13 Jan 2010could you tell me what the battery usage is like? thats the only thing keeping me from buying itWith a significant amount of usage (check e-mail every 5 min as I use GV for text messaging, browsing every once in a while, playing music via Last.FM, etc) on WiFi mostly, I find that the battery life is acceptable. It will get me through the day unless I end up streaming music for a few hours, in which case I'll generally have to charge the phone before going to bed.
n900userVV, 13 Jan 2010Update doesn't bring anything useful for now. The phone is still extremely slow in phone book... moreHmm thats weird I have never had any of those issues and i have 1500 contacts. Maybe yours has some sort of defect. Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions and I have the update!

But of course you might be using Linux because you want to look edgy and cool, but couldn't afford a Mac. That's mostly the demographic of Ubuntu".
Well, you probably didn't understand my question as you are going about why I'm using Ubuntu. But FYI, Ubuntu doesn't need any kind of programming skills to use, it's just the best OS out there at the moment and that's why I'm using it, Mac or Windows doesn't come to even close.
But back to my question, doesn't anyone else find it's a bit odd that Nokia makes a Linux phone and then it doesn't actually work in Linux as Ovi Suite doesn't support Linux?!?

leinar, 13 Jan 2010anybody have tried this update???whats new? any hangs up?Update doesn't bring anything useful for now.
The phone is still extremely slow in phone book if one has more than 1000 entries even compared to a E71 I used before.
It has started to drop calls even if the signal is full and both wifi and gprs are off. NOKIA PLEASE A REAL SOFTWARE UPDATE IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
Don't get me wrong, this still is a wonderful phone and there is nothing on the market I would consider instead.

It basically combines all your messages like SMS, IM, chat, and whatever else all into one kind of like the palm pre does with it's messaging system.
