So here we are again. The megapixel war is not going to an end.
AnonD-152638, 28 Aug 2015I dont like that Sony are so involved with the resolution race in mobiles.
I dont know if the... more1) HTC already tried that route. Was a disaster. I had M7, worse image quality than Galaxy S1, especially in low light.
2) 99% of smartphone photo crowd arent exactly photographers, to them less means worse
3) A7rII is now in mid 3000's on clean ISO, and its 42mp. Same goes for A7r vs A7. Its sensor design that really matters.
4) This is a 1/2.3" sensor, much larger than 1/3" in most smartphones. If they will do it right, it will be a winner. Just look at 42mp 1/1.7" Nokia Pureview. Not exactly a small pixel count.
If it's going to be another Omni Balance again, I'm out!
This camera should be competing with the upcoming iphone.
Who knows, may Sony & Apple uses the same camera ? Haha...
Sony only good at making camera but this is not good for low light with f/2.3. Sony should stick with making video camera and tvs. Their smartphone is getting boring with same design and the 6months cycle is not helping at all. Two smartphone look alike in a year is too much. Z3 and Z4 not much different. Now Z5 should be mind blowing or prepare to be criticize.
I dont like that Sony are so involved with the resolution race in mobiles.
I dont know if they changed it, this time around, but the Normal setting for the Z series before it was to capture an 8 Megapixel image (supposedly a downsampled version from a full resolution image). If that was the result they were after, an 8 megapixel image, well, it would have been better to use an 8 megapixel sensor, that could then have bigger pixels, and therefore have better lowlight performance.
I doubt that the lens actually is capable at capturing 20+ megapixels. So even with enough light, the sensor will never be fed enough information to capture a 20+ megapixel image. And then we have the sensor itself, which probably isnt capable either of actually capturing 20+ megapixels.
I mean, the resolution of the Z is about the same as their RX100 series, and those have better optics and a much larger sensor.
And even the RX100 is beaten in amount of captured details compared to some cameras with lower resolution sensors.
But sony did after all do the A7s, that had fewer pixels, and thus bigger ones, in order to have better low light performance, they should do the same with their Z series.
fake....
So far, things looks promising for Sony.
Same boring design again from 3 years straight...!
Are Sony designers are so lazy to make a new design...?
why the hell will anyone need to take 23 megapixel photos with a phone camera? it's retarded, and it does not represent quality of photo.
Still single flash..

So this time NO OIS AGAIN just a increased resolution ! What a Shame Sony why r u saving OIS feature .r u planing to launch it to ur SONY XPERIA Z50 lol..learn from Lg & Samsung. Or pack ur bags and go home ..this time no waterproofing & dustproofing is going to save ur back ...go get ur acts together or dont launch the z5 at all .
P.S The Xperia Ultra 2 is also pending .if u lauch it give it a flash light this time around.as a customer we understand that u r cutting corners just to keep us wanting more like every OEM now a days playing the same game...like we will give u this but not this same goes for samsung to not launch the 128gb model for Note5 & S6 Edge+ & Lg for giving SD808 underpowered chipset to Lg G4 .& not the Sd810 r..what these companies think we customers r fools & we do not understand ur game ...lol..Grow up guys...
wow! just recently buy the z3 compact, and i love it..but now so exited about the z5 compact

AnonD-90793, 28 Aug 2015Same cr@p as always... Sony should just quit... sell its mobile division and just be put out o... moreWell, sony's design is better than any brand, and its more durable.
AnonD-90793, 28 Aug 2015Same cr@p as always... Sony should just quit... sell its mobile division and just be put out o... morebetter than your iPhone and Samsung lol.
If I really gonna buy an Android phone with non-removable battery, I will definitely choose Sony. Because of the water-proof feature, I wouldn't mind the sealed battery, and also it has good camera and microsd expansion.
I was that sexy turquoise color one.
AnonD-90793, 28 Aug 2015Same cr@p as always... Sony should just quit... sell its mobile division and just be put out o... morehmm like you know............ there are some people on this earth who actually like the design of the Xperias unlike lookalikes S6 & iph6. I am one of those who love the Xperia design language.
