My K Zoom, is better, despite having a smaller aperture, but it does however have OIS. It uses the same Sony sensor.
I'm pretty sure the S6 models and Note 4 and note 5 would outdo my K zoom in low light, and of course the LG G4.
The Z3 has that extended ISO mode, that drives the ISO higher than I can on my K zoom.
But you are left with a lot of noise, so you have to downscale it to pathetic resolutions, if you dont want your pictures to be a soup of noise, so you will hardly use it.

That ain't outdated for you? Also, more megapixels doesn't mean better camera, the lumia 1020 and HTC One M9 prove it.

At the moment I own a galaxy s6 that has really a couple of problems and I would say except the camera the xperia z3 I used before was the better phone. I am.not a fanboy of any brand and I see things realistic and "we" used the xperia z3 and the mi4 from January to end of june half a year as our phones and with me being a tech enthusiast I compared the cameras a couple of times and you can just believe be that in most cases the mi4 made the better pictures..not analyzed with special equipment but just the nicer looking pictures. For example when we went to a nice restaurant and posted our lunch at Facebook she sent me her phone because it looked better.
Look at my comments here at gsmarena, I am always objective and you don't have to cry around like a little baby if I tell you that the xperia z3 really does not have a great camera.
My galaxy s6 HAD a great camera but 3 weeks after I bought it, the ois broke, so it was 2 weeks at repair and since I have it back the camera is working again but the pictures are much worse, in low light conditions like unusable with a very bad fokus so you see, other brands also have problems and I will send the phone to samsung again as soon as I get my Asus zenfone2 (that I will use and test for the time till I can get the onuplus2 invite, the asus and the hopefully repaired Samsung will then be sold if the oneplus is good enough..)

If you match the pixel technology and size of the pixels, you would end up with different resolutions, and the FF sensor would still be more expensive.
If you then match them with optics that give the same performance for the pixels you want to compare, this is difficult, cause you have to calculate the field of view, the amount of light the aperture lets in, to those pixels, and you need the optics to be as sharp.
And have processors that offers equal performance (the FF would have to be somewhat more powerfull since it would have more pixels).
Well, do you still think the FF would still ahead?
How would you then logically defend that argument?
The pixels gets as much light, are as sensitive, the processor has the same power to interprit the result. What would then make a difference?
The answer is nothing.
But there are no such products that can directly be compared.

It ... moreIn reality: Z3+ and iPhone 6 rank same in cameras, but Z3+ camera is called disappointing, while iPhone 6 camera is amazing. Why do some people do this, I don't know. And with the Z5, Sony is mainly focusing on camera. They're only talking about the camera. Check their tweets.

Its a futile... moreSorry, but OnePlus underclocked the its 810 Soc on the OnePlus Two and it worked on very well and it is NOT HEATING at all, though normal heating due to prolonged usage which is obvious.
Endeavour to read the review of the OnePlus 2 @gsmarena.

But according to professional camera testers, both rank same in Dx0mark. Is the Xiaomi crap phone you mentioned there in Dx0mark? No.

Sony Xperia Z3+ and iPhone 6 score the same on dx0mark rank, behind note 4 and s6 and Moto X style (also behind LG G4, but its not mentioned in Dx0mark). Xperia Z3+ ranks 4th, tied with iPhone 6. Now, what I call disappointing is HTC one m9 camera, which despite having 20 MP sensor, ranks 28th in Dx0mark. I don't get why you critize the Z5 camera. Do you know which sensor is being used? No. Has this leak been officially confirmed by Sony? No. Do you know what all features this Z5 camera will have? No. So, don't critize Sony Xperia Z5 so soon, when it hasnt been released ;-)

I also owned a z3 and I was NOT impressed by its camera performance, my girlfriends mi4 with a smaller sensor and smaller pixel area and smaller megapixel count made better pictures... Sony really has to get its camera to where they belong, it makes no sense, that almost all top mobile cameras use Sony sonsors but Sony itself cannot match the quality of a cheap Chinese phone with the cheap sony sensor...

We want them to deliver and so we want to continue as loyalists. I still own an old Xperia P, my mom owns a 6 yr old SE S312, my sister has the C3. And I want to see more excellent flagships fr. them in the future. It's just kind of saddening to see that they are a bit struggling bec. they can't be the best, even if they can.
I'm also a photography enthusiast that's why I understand your explanations. I find them interesting to read. And it just makes me more frustrated and have high hopes for the Z5, the phone I am interested to own. I am eyeing for the Edge, or the i6s, hope the z5 will deliver.

I also criticise Sony but I would categories it as a constructive one bec. I admit that as a fan, I am being so frustrated, that no matter how good the specs are on paper, they don't deliver up to our expectations. Yes they maybe good, but not as good as we hoped for/pay for. I also want to believe that everything turns out to be just gimmick. Too many jargons or names like the Exmor, G lens, Bionz mobile. But in reality, we are left to be expecting for more.
I'm a huge fan and just like the others
