Hope that Sony one day can bring LG camera system merge with Sony ones.

Its same as your eyes. So what if you... morelens is not more important .
You can focus all the light from heaven to the sensor but its pointless if sensor cant picking up anything .

No OIS = not gonna make any differences from 20MP cam.
No software processing = meh.
Keep in mind, GALAXY Alpha's 12MP NO OIS camera beats Sony's 21MP sensor (both in video recording and picture taking; proved in GSMArena's "iPhone 6 vs Galaxy Alpha vs Sony Xperia Z3c Review" review) cause Sony doesn't have better software processing.
Therefore:
23MP + No OIS + Same software processing = Sony loses to Samsung's 12MP sensor.
If Sony puts OIS and upgrades the software = Tie to Samsung's flagships' 16MP OIS sensor.

Sensor size vs MP. Since there is limited space on a smartphone, sensor size is relatively the same.
Now you increase the MP.. meaning there is more pixels cramped into the same amount of space.
So each pixel on the sensor received less light, more noise, less dynamic range. All these have to be resolved by either a good processor, a good sensor architecture, else you get a FAR worse product then your previous phone.
I HOPE Sony really think that thru, and provide quality pictures for customer, rather then a marketing gimmick.

Its same as your eyes. So what if your eyes can see tons of colors.. but your lens in the eye is trashed.. you see blur.
So if sony still want to go ahead with this.. they better make sure the chip can handle this.. AND come out with accessory LENS. Else the reaction of the messes will just be.. meh?

But of course, the specs obsessed masses will always be attracted to the "more is better" mantra. Can't really blame Sony for that.
