Clinton has nothing to do with unauthorized listening to phone calls. You may remember 2-3 year old scandal with telcos helping to monitor phone conversations without court orders on Bush orders and then Congress protecting them retroactively from liability for breaking law and responding to multiple lawsuits. People swallowed it. This what I am wondering about. Where are we going?
i say we all go back to the old tdma network!!! or juand to be honest the world leaders are prob already listening to me talk to my mom!
Actually yes, no court ordered needed anymore. bill clinton signed a bill that would enable those (government) the right to listen in on any phone call. The fact of the matter is, law has deficated on our right to enjoy privacy. So with the progress of technology also comes with those (hackers & theifs) who would love nothing more to do, then corrupt or destory networks and steal money. Race has no issue in this issue so who ever made the first post should walk off a high rise building.
Carphone Lee, 15 Jan 2010I'm sorry but this is nonsense! How is this suddenly becoming a race issue? The topic was 3G... moreI have hear that to, and it shall consearn us all to stop corruption and discrimination, privacy shall be protected.

Firstly, police do not have the power to listen to phone calls without a court order! Secondly, how would they know what race you are? Even if your SIM is registered, registration information doesn't include race! The topic here is whether this technology is a breach of privacy or a useful security tool. Stop stirring the pot with made-up accusations of technology being used for racism.
i've successfully decrypt it...u r going to eat fried rice tonight...i'll put sth in the rice ;)
Matt, 15 Jan 2010Point taken man... I still maintain that just because the power exists, doesnt automatically r... moreIt is arbitrary, and discrimination against specific group of people, and it's reason motive is racism, antisemitism and xenophobia.
And all that violates the human right, and anyone of us or our children may bee victims to such officials who use their official property and power for their private behavior xenophobia for discrimination, so people must watch out for this corrupt law enforcement guys who abuse official property and power for their personal psychic problems.
Point taken man... I still maintain that just because the power exists, doesnt automatically result in a violation of rights. About your point though, governments seem only to be judged on their mistakes and not success. Or more often on the former and less on the latter. One need only look to a government like zimbabwe to see what a government looks like if it acts completely arbitrarily. Even the eu acts more reasonably and not arbitrarily all the time. Or else there would be a complete break down in the government. But good point though, my argument made as if governments were completely reasonable and not arbitrary.
haha i will call my mom and see if someone try to track me about the grocery list
Matt, 14 Jan 2010Actually it doesnt. It would only be a violation if such invasion of our right to privacy occu... moreWell..., i don't know where are you living or wot kind of human race are you, but this arbitrary things is happening everyday especially against emigrants..., check out at human right organization how much discriminations is going on..., because this guys in law is trying to earn hero-price by victimizing emigrants ass a cheap or poor kind they pronounce them specially here in EU, because guys in law know they may get advantage on them easy with local support, and the emigrants in EU have not much law protection, and after any imprisonment they may be deported and no chance for any appeal back against unreal justice or imprisonment.
Most of the time "the guys in law enforcement" don't even inform victim about accusation, but just imprisonment and deportation, no way appeal back about the case unreal justice, because they don't bring them to justice at all, because after the Dublin treaty law have been established for emigration in EU!
And all that, because of stupid jock on the phone or stupid jock to "unknown friend".
Well enough of this, but the guys in law enforcement they spy people how they have sex, when she or he is going out, so they can park their car near by, and watch her buddy walking down the street and they play with their little man, or watch him and his little man...!!!
Anonymous, 14 Jan 2010yea the degrading world has to take 8 millions pictures of itself these days and set pointless... moreI think you've got Apple confused with Google who are probably checking all the information they have on you right now, so they can work out the best ads to show you, as you use the Internet.
The chinese are SO gonna enjoy this! Especially with all the polava with google...
Actually it doesnt. It would only be a violation if such invasion of our right to privacy occured without reason. Sending a joke with the word terrorism in it would not be a reasonable ground. They would obviously read the whole thing if the sms contained a key word or alarm word before tapping your line to ensure that it was serious or not. Government's do not act arbitrarily and they wouldnt be wasting there time tracing you and wasting much needed man power and resources over a joke. Be realistic.
Anonymous, 14 Jan 2010It does violate our basic right to privacy but there's nothing we can do. The fact that someon... moreYou may cheat or try to provoke, but if they arrest you..., you may end at kind of Guantanamo and suffer for menu years to come till they find out you are innocent, and if you do... than your live will still suffer anyway, because your way of live made change the direction the way other people live..., so you better not to try provoking like that!!!
Sometime a go wife call here man on the GSM telling him to bay two white bred, and he anyway forgot to bay it, he come back at home, and "they" are there already surrounding his house, and arrested him for two kg cocaine "missing in action", they have recorded on tape, but he have nothing to prove innocence and neither guilty, but they still keep him in arrest, so i hope you people have understand wot i em talking about, be careful wot you talking on the phone.
