I think those companies have reached their peak in term of design so all they do know is copying each other and add some small changes

They have to char... moreWhat is last gen design? Afaik 2.D glass is being used by only Chinese brands and it is a current gen design. The glass back was used by Apple in iPhone 4 and 4S.
Besides the make of many phones made by companies like Xiaomi are on par with the expensive brands if not better. They use the same parts and ask a low price for it.
The point is, these so called 'expensive phone companies' aim for higher revenue. While the chinese brands keep the profit to lowest possible.
