If a car manufacturer comes out with a new technology and only uses it in it's own vehicles for a while prior to it being available to the wider market (ABS, Airbags have all featured on one make before appearing in others) Are they abusing their market too?

All browsers have humongous memory requirements as of late. This partially comes with the amount of interactive content, but it's still getting ridiculous. I have about 3 tabs open right now, and it's eating 913MB of RAM. What the hell is it doing with it?

I can't even start a browser on my old phone, because almost freezes with one tab open - no matter if it's chrome, opera or firefox.

In my browsing experience as of date..I like chrome better than the rest...edge is glitchy for me and so is mozilla firefox..fire fox can't help but crash..chrome is most stable for me..among the smart phone browsers i'd have to say UC browser has been the best!

luqman98, 04 Sep 2015Anyone on Chrome 64-bit can reply to me about RAM usage after updating to 45?Chrome is faster than Firefox to start, not sure what the other comment is about. I even have an Asus i7 machine with dedicated gfx. It has always been faster.
Anyways I still really like Chrome and Firefox and I confirm that the 64-bit v45 does improve drastically the memory management. Gmail in idle tab is now using 88mb vs 350mb+. I used to see it go up to 500, if I'm not mistaken.

Chrome is slow to start on my ASUS core i7 machine. Firefox remains the best browser for me.

Anonymous, 04 Sep 2015and yet google is the most used browser . . i wonder what went wrong with these alternatives hmm may be use your brain cells once in a while.. "It is the most used, it must be good" argument.
google owns 40% of internet traffic..and that was two years ago.
Google made it's sites work "better" on its own browsers.
New features, many times are only available to Chrome users.

They are basically abusing their market-share.

Something that Opera had from... beginning?

Dont get me wrong, I used Chrome for long time, but Opera is just... better, it support all chrome addons and bookmarks. It work faster, and even on netbook with 1GB RAM its work just like with PC with 8GB of RAM

Chrome today is caricature of browser that we wanted back then. Its big, slow, full of useless features and its need more resources than modern games to run smooth...
Just like Android to be honest... Just to run system it self Android need huge power to run smooth... Funny as hell, especially when for most of time Im using it so I know that its Joke what they did to it... google at its best...
