I mean,

This is nothing..
Z5compact is enough, and too much for this
igimmik nonsense,thats the reality..
ill sell my ip6 plus for a very very low price,so i could switch to sony as quick as possible..
Im so bored with this for a year, nothing to do,nothings new and nothing to offer..
Only a name..and i mean it..
I thought it was a great choice before,

No mcard,low reso(ppi),low camera mp,often has a motion blur,
Very low ram, outdated core with low gighertz, poor battery, joystick controller for games is not possible for this to connect..
Blutut for iphone only and also depends on firmware,if not the same,u cant even search for even if its iphone...nfc is for apple pay only, all downloads even music has a bill, and i turned into itunes prisoner...
i want to get rid of this and i so regret that i bought this..
Very xpensive and i find it useless..

It won't be a silly gimmick when Samesung implement it in their Galaxy S7 and Note6 next year. Then it will be innovative, revolutionary, and amazing.

Got hands on time with the Z5 Premium have you??? or are you just going by the press manufacturers stated numbers and market hyperbole?

If it's the former then please give us your privileged views? if it's the latter, then it could just be that you may be in for something of a disappointment.

-I think the major role of force touch is "tap to wake" like my apple watch... Knowing that 6s plus is big and the power button is so high to rich I think tap to wake is better advantage for it

Anonymous, 07 Sep 2015If u believe that 750p is fine with all convincing argument why does a iphone have 1080p display?Actually the last line on my previous post argues against the benefits of higher than FULL HD displays of 6 inches or less. But whatever, I would agree there are (again as I previously stated) slight improvements when resolution is raised.

But these improvements are very slight, and in no way necessary, Asian market customers would argue the opposite this due to the complexity of their written language...but even that takes you only so far.

1080p is fine for all such use cases, but what we have in todays mobile display market is a spec race based only on resolution, as such it is out running other aspects that make up a Smartphone, such as battery and SoC.

Its quite telling that in 2015 we have major manufactures putting out flagship devices that in terms of on screen frame rates either show no improvement or fare worse than their 2014 models.

I would rather Manufactures agree that 1080p is the standard (not forever but the foreseeable future) and work instead on major improvements to display power efficiency, brightness, colour reproduction etc.

And seeing as how the mobile gaming market is growing stronger each year, I would again rather manufactures take care not to out pace the limits of the hardware in their devices by setting the screen resolution to high, just for the benefit of a marketing headline. Modern SoC's can barely run 2k screens and the same rate that the previous gen could run 1080p, let alone 4k (I doubt even the new Adreno 530 is quite up to that).

Apple have a completely different business model.

Whereas most brands implement the latest technology to stay ahead, Apple removes the focus from pure specs and concentrates on the customers NEEDS.

The key difference is that 90% of customers don't understand specs unless they can physically differentiate them.

                            "2X faster than the iPhone4" means something, 1.6GHz dual-core doesn't.
"4x the amount of pixels on a retina display compared to other models" actual means something, 1080p doesn't.

When Apple sells its products, it translates specifications down to the most common denominator, which is certainly not the geek-level. The hardware-software-app optimisation also removes the pressure to feature the latest and greatest, because Apple's combination simply lasts longer.

Their MacBooks have followed the EXACT same evolution, and they are still some of the best performing laptops in the market.

And most of you will just completely gloss over what I wrote and babble on...

Force touch looks like a silly gimmick. It's kind of like the iPhone 6's retina when that's only a lowly 750p resolution.

Just adding Advanced in the front of the word doesn't make it super special .
It's just slight modified and just with that naming they want to creat a hype .

Anonymous, 07 Sep 2015Still going to be a 720p LCD displayAnd???

There are strong arguments to be made that 720p is fine on 20+ inch portable TV's, why would you need more on a mobile display that is one quarter the size??

Yes higher resolutions may look 'slightly' better (emphasis on slightly), and you may not be able to make out pixels if you hold the phone 1 inch or less from your face, but that comes at cost to battery life and SoC performance.

Take this new Z5 premium for example (seeing as how everyone is ohhing and aahhing over it), yes very pretty is it's 4k display with 802 ppi, but we have yet to see what this does to the battery life of the device, and what about performance???

Look at the on screen frame rates of games on current phones that feature the Adreno 430 GPU and a 1080p display then divide that by 4, because that is what we are essentially talking about! (and you'd think gaming would be quite important to the company that gave us the Playstation brand)

The iPhone 6S with it's 720p display will absolutely destroy the Z5 premium in this regard.

In fact I challenge anyone (who hasn't somehow managed to travel to the future and have their eyes replaced by bionic retina's that allow for 200/200 vision) to be able to honestly say they can see the benefits of these new higher than full HD displays on 6 inch or less screens!

It's like spending a million $ to buy a mediocre 400 sq.ft house to stay (oh that is more than enough for a person)
