You forgot to mention this bit from the original Bloomberg report: "The moves come after new high-end Galaxy smartphones failed to impress consumers, triggering five straight monthly declines and wiping out more than $40 billion in Samsung's market value since April." Awkward.

Today if someone brings in a note 1 is more like outstanding of the crowd. Ever wondered why? Because of the design even though the hardware is outdated but it still supports your basic needs the removable battery and SD card. It only depends on the users usage. I myself got a note 1 note 3 and note edge but i love note 1 the most and i still have kept it in a new condition with all the boxes as well just becasue i love that massive screen size. No matter what the hardware specs no matter the OS is outdated. In the end it only depends on the user's needs.

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2015Samsung is huge, the loss of s6 and note 5 sales won't affect much. most profitable samsung divisions are mobile and semi conductor.
mobile divison generates lots of money for semiconductor division.

if something goes wrong with mobile division smasungs profit will be down down fraction of its glory days

It is ironic how Samsung had the most hard core Android fan base, yet Samsung was the one company that worked so hard to alienate its customers.
