Akash, 10 Sep 2015Well for those complaining about specs...
Apple was never really in the specs war like andr... moreActually while iphones camera is good it's not even in the top 5...Or 10 I believe.
1020, S6, G4....minus video sorta, Cm1, K Zoom, Z3, Z5, Note 4.....Just for a few.
Soon Chinese phones will use Aluminum 7000 too, but with significantly cheaper price.
Anonymous, 10 Sep 2015There was a time, when Apple had the best technology. Now they are just copycats, with fun to ... moreNope. Even the first iPhone was quite behind it's time and copied from Samsung and LG designs.
KrisDRoger, 10 Sep 2015It is unbelievable to see someone buying an iphone 6S 16GB model abd it would just take a 32 m... moreI think people that buy the smallest idevices are stupid. 16gb isn't enough. 32 gb isnt enough anymore. Ithink 128gb isnt enough. For what idevices can you, you need a lot of memory. Saving thing to the cloud still downloads everything to your phone.
Alex, 10 Sep 20151GB of Ram is really stupid. That would be a deal breaker for me.IT HAS 2GB RAM. Apple has confirmed it to devs. It's just that they didn't brag about it on keynote.
There was a time, when Apple had the best technology. Now they are just copycats, with fun to make "innovations".
If the next iPhone, has the same innovations of the 6s, we all will be seeing the dawn of an era. Just like Nokia.
Mree, 09 Sep 2015I'm amazed by how offended the Apple Haters got with these new release.
Seriously, those wh... moreI'm not an Apple hater just for the sake of it, I even advised iPads over Android tablets for years when they were clearly better.. it's different now but still.
If they actually released something interesting to me, I would buy it.
I'm actually mostly having fun when watching the announcements..
They keep using words like "astounding", "fascinating", "innovation", "game changing", ... for every new thing in their device, even if it existed for years for everyone else.
They looked like it was the first time they noticed that a 12MP picture has more details than a 8MP one..
A new revolution that is at the same level as Multi-Touch back then... 3D Touch ! Wait... is that the same as Force Touch which has existed for 9 years on almost every Android device?
I loved what they said about the Apple TV.. "There have been no changes for TVs in the past decades, we decided to do something about that: Apps!" Wait.. did they just discover Smart TVs?
It's really like watching an old announcement, like ignoring everything that exists already when announcing the exact same thing as a revolution.
I'm not saying Apple TV is bad, it actually looks interesting, but come on..
Oh and for Android not being as smooth as iOS. Have you even tried a Galaxy S6?
You wouldn't be saying that if you did.
My mother had iPhones until recently, my wife and sister have iPads, I know exactly how smooth they are.. and how buggy and laggy they can be, contrary to what you keep hearing from Apple.
It just works.. yeah tell that to my wife's iPad that keeps going back to the icon list when trying to open new tabs in Safari (it saw a few resets already, doesn't help for long). Both my wife's and my sister's iPads freeze from time to time.. you have to wait 5 to 30 seconds (and something force restart it) until it responds again.
I actually have 0 issues on my S6 (the only thing I had was memory management which closed apps too aggressively, but this being Android, it was easy to fix)..
I had no issues on my S5 either (I kept the same ROM for over 8 months), but I admit it wasn't as smooth as the iPhone and the S6.
I just wish Apple would let people tinker with their phones.. it would actually start becoming interesting then.
It is unbelievable to see someone buying an iphone 6S 16GB model abd it would just take a 32 min of 4K video recording to completely fill the memory of the phone without installing any app
Thats just utter stupidiy...!!!
Alex, 10 Sep 20151GB of Ram is really stupid. That would be a deal breaker for me.for the android ,yeah its really stupid, for ios , no ...maybe must upgrade a lil bit , but not too much ~
Akash, 10 Sep 2015Well for those complaining about specs...
Apple was never really in the specs war like andr... moreThough I am a Samsung fan, but read your comment completely.Very well said. I use Samsung, that doesn't mean I would ignore what iPhone brings on board. It's undoubtedly a very good phone.Though S6 has a very good camera, iPhone 6 matched it an year ago. Apple was the 1st to being 64bit to phones. And the way there phones perform with just 1GB Ram is praiseworthy. The screen though not as good as S5/S6, is brilliant in its own. And much better than Sony I would say. S6 Edge is a stunning phone only because iPhone was a showstopper in looks department. No, we can't take away credits from Apple.
Only thing I don't like is Apple copying things from others and passing it as it's own invention. Like, Live Images was termed ad "new technology", no its not !! Many multitasking (actual multitasking) features coming in iOS 9 are a rip off from Samsung Touchwiz (multi view, pop up play).Battery saving features of iOS 9 are again a lift from Samsung (Ultra power saving mode). They should copy, no harm in evolving. But should not pass it as their own invention. Ohhh and the Apple Pencil. S Pen still would be more mighty but since Apple brought it now, fans would credit Apple for "invention". This happens and this is sad !! Why would one make others look bad in order to make someone look good.
icarus, 10 Sep 2015seems iPhone has reached end of its product cycle and apple is running out of innovation ideas... moreI thought we have been saying that since iPhone 5 days.....either consumers don't care about innovation or Apple products are really meeting the expectations of consumers.
Well for those complaining about specs...
Apple was never really in the specs war like android companies...
The reason is simple... They dont need to. When the same company makes the hardware and software or OS(like apple does).. Its a better intergration than what android manufacturers get.
Kinda like love marriage over arranged.
Well jokes apart..
So iOS doesn't really need 4gb of RAM to be butter smooth or blazing fast. 1gb is enough for iOS, mostly because of the lack of customisation.. But that isnt really a thing to complain..its preference.
I personally like making my phone unique but I know a lot of people who dont give a damn about customising.
Next up camera..Now I too used to mock my friends who own 5s and 6 about a flagship phone having just 8mp ...something budget androids provide...but it was actually an eye opener if you see the camera quality of iphones...dont believe me? Check it put yourself at some electronics shop or if any pf your friends own one..you will be impressed!
Their 8 mp(i6) was ONE OF THE BEST matched and bettered by just Samsungs S6's 16 and Sony's z3's 20.7 and a lumia I cant seem to remember.. Rest dont match it.
Hence Im sure the 12 mp will once again be in the top 3-4 camera's in smartphones...
So its not like a camera is supposed to impress in specsheet but in actual use..apple manages the latter..which really counts.
Screen is once again going crazy in the specs war...Z5 reached 4k which was like invented 2 years ago reserved for 55 inch Huge LED Tvs...frankly thats where it belongs if you want the true 4k experience... A 5.5 inch will be heavenly to look at with 4k but its a very minor upgrade over even full hd(sony fans hating me already? See any z5 vs z5 premium video since it hasnt yet launched in many countries) its a minor quality upgrade... Huge innovation! I repeat its a HUGE INNOVATION to pack 4k in 5.5 inches but its only a small improvement over full HD. And if you consider the battery usage of a 4k display you might wonder should I stick to a Full HD phone instead?
Thats how apple went with their phones. They stuck to full Hd( 6s plus) because even though you will know theres QHD and UHD out there.. But at a pocketable size .. Its very minor improvements in exchange of precious battery life. Some people wont even percieve the difference of QHD over FHD.
And as for the i6 , its somewhere slightly higher than 720 p display makes crisp enough display that you wont complain unless you are looking at the specs rather than the screen.
Lastly when you consider the battery...
Yeah 1700 mah is no where close to what androids offer ...but its lower res screen , more efficient processor with "just 1gb" of RAM doesnt really need that much power as some QHD android with 3-4 gbs of RAM.
So even though it isnt going to set standards ... Apples battery wont be any worse than the current crop of android flagships.... That still doesnt stop Apple from packing larger batteries but I guess some brands just dont give you everything.. Disappointing though.
Innovations are there.. But its about what you consider as innovation.
Bumping up specs beyond control is not innovation.. Its bringing something new to the product which was missing before
( like edge screen is one..good job by sammy)..and not just improving on the existing.
How many of you love the fingerprint sensor on your phones? I love it(the feature) even though I dont have a phone which offers :( ... But what Im trying to say is ..that was innovation.. To include a finger print sensor on your phone..
Many brands have followed ( xperia series got it this time around...samsung perfected its with the s6) however apple had a really good one 2 years ago in the 5s...
Usb type -c is just another modified version of their own "lightning connector". Apple innovation again.
Now Im not really sure how much the force touch is essential only because I feel the android execution of touch or tap ... And long touch or press does the job well... Both can be easily distinguished and they do different tasks.
But maybe I might change my mind after seeing.. And as for androids offering force touch? Its just the Huawei mate S ...which if you see its video..seems quite redundant... As if they are forcing you to use the force touch(no pun intended) where you didnt really need to.
Lastly yeah Apples are expensive! A bit too much.. But its the consumers fault! The brand sets the price...the consumers are still lining up to buy the exorbitantly priced phones!
I blame apple for android flagships reaching nearly 1000 $ mark because apple showed them people will still buy it.
Phones shouldnt be so expensive.. As their usage life is only 2-3 years ..so why do you price it like it will last you for 5 years.(by that time the current flagship will seem like a paperweight).
But thats one thing only consumers can change.
But apple does offer you software updates longer than any android flagship gets.
And Im sure many of you will call me iSheep and etc! Let me clear it up for you... NOT AN APPLE FAN! There are plenty of things I dont really like.. For example : the dependency on iTunes.. I would prefer if they never ever reqd a laptop or mac in iphones usage... And the lack of customisation or the not so powerful multitasking(if you can call that multitasking :p)..
So Apple has room for improvement... Then again which brand doesnt?
Im sure plenty of you will not read the comment because its way too long..sorry guys...I can't stick to any word limit...do give it a read though . Thanks
