Try package disabler pro in the play store, it helped my Note 4 and S4, it let's you disable all the bloat ware, increases battery life and helps it run smoother.
Oh my Galaxy S4 is still in the news
This phone is by far the most perfect balanced between specs, screen and size.
I wish one day they'd make an S4 with a cutting edge specs
Since it took this long to update to 5.1, this means 6.0 will never arrive for GS4 GP.
AnonD-205566, 11 Sep 2015Well, i can't say that lollipop making the regular s4 slower surprises me. I mean samsung has ... moreThey scraped off the Google Play Edition because it defy the purposes of releasing the Nexus devices made by LG, Motorola, Huawei and such. It is the same concept. Why do it twice? Except that now Google get to choose which company get to design their Nexus devices. The Google Play Edition concept is just to put stock android on existing phone made by other company themselves without having different design or Nexus branding. It the same as rooting any android smartphone to get rid of their skin and use stock android, then call it Google Play Edition. That why Google stop making that. It is pointless to sell it if others know how to make their own Google Play Edition by rooting.
Well, i can't say that lollipop making the regular s4 slower surprises me. I mean samsung has made it an integral part of its business to make phones as useful as bricks a year and a half after their release. Their whole marketing revolves around "such screen, much processing power" and they five people eye candy software that serves nearly no purpose and cloggs the phone to death (note series aside, those do make sense)
Regarding this particular piece of news: i had no idea they had scrapped the whole gpe idea, i thought it was fantastic and would have been glad to get one. Only case in which i would have bought a samsung device.
surprisingly that google play edition handsets weren't more popular, considering samsung put great specs in their devices but fill it with software GARBAGE, id rather get a GPE edition of the s5 or s6 for example.
