Anonymous, 12 Sep 2015Excuse me? Have you read anything in my post that I pertain to someone as "idiot" &q... more"Just that, people would abuse their phone in water without a second thought." - This is the specific sentence in your earlier comment that forced me to talk about you describing people as "morons", "stupid" etc. You have used a specific tone in writing the phrase "without a second thought" giving me the afore-mentioned impression. People are inclined to use their water resistant phone under water because Sony has advertised in that way. You don't see people utilising Motorola phones, which are water resistant, underwater, the reason being Mototrola does not advertise the water resistant feature as aggressively as Sony. And with your previous comment (the one I am replying to), you prove that you are a typical Sony fan boy. A typical characteristic of a fan boy is that he cannot see or refuses to accept the loopholes (in this case, manufacturing defects and/or false advertising) of his beloved company. Writing important terms and conditions in small prints is a tool used by all companies, including Sony, with the intention of cheating their customers. I am just making an example out of Sony. Oh, by the way, I neutralised my embarrassment by proving that I can revive a water damage soft bricked phone!!
thankyou sony that you give us proper right to information. i love sony and will be loving because of its promises
SONY is submerged in *deep* water. That's why it's asking to NOT fully submerge them SONY phones :)

But its better not to take the risk.
And its better not to overhype waterproof feature anymore...
Take attention please, Sony warranty also said do not drop or bend the device. This is normally a simple knowledge, but the user just won't obey.
I'm pretty sure that the new phones are fully waterproof because they are still made under the same waterproof technology and if you have all taps fully closed you wont have any issues even in saltwater (i have tested mine by taking photos and videos more than 50 times in saltwater and nothing happened). The new waterproof policy doesn't mean that the phone is not capable of taking photos or videos underwater but if something happens during that operation you shouldn't ask for any warranty. Sony is simply trying to avoid warranty and that's not a positive thing for such a great company.
Take attention please, Sony warranty also said do not drop or bend the device. This all terms normally a simple knowledge, but the user just won't obey.
Hope that they also revised the promo videos. Taking pics in pool is exciting, and I guess it attracts quite a lot of buyers. I guess, it should be noted fr. the start that it can sustain water drops and splashes, but only limited to that to avoid over expectations. I get the reason why they change the rule, it's bec. some users overuse their phones.
How many people will actually take pics under water?
Most people won't, but I think it's mostly for accidentally dropping cell in water or splashes! So get over it people

Have you read anything in my post that I pertain to someone as "idiot" "stupid" or even "moron" at all? You make me want to laugh at you, really. Sorry, I'm an educated person and will not say something harsh like that to someone. Did you just embarrassed yourself again? Anyway, I'll just give you a benefit of a doubt that maybe you commented on the wrong post.
It was indicated in sony website before but it was too small to read. It has this sign ** which means it is an important note. Lucky for me, I have time to read about that chlorinated water, sea water and etc. What's luckier is we have lots of fresh water pools in our country, and I hate Chlorinated or salted pools to begin with.
Again. Do not embarrass yourself again and read someone's post carefully before making a move to comment. Give yourself a break. I love my durable Sony phones so I do not need those link. But someone might need it so still, thank you.
I think it was a scam and people should get their money back. They advertised the phones as waterproof (not partly waterproof or else) and showed images of the phones used under water. To believe these claims is not unrealistic or foolish because it was one of the key selling point of the device.
I like Sony as a brand but this was really fraudulent and they should be sued.
Now they release this CRAP. Too late for that. I've been a Sony user God knows what. But after what happened to my Xperia Z. Shame on them and I will not buy anykind that bears the SONY brand as long as I live.
what the hell so thank Sony for the biggest lies it made , I should change my mind of being Sony fans .
maybe cause still sony produces handsome phones but since the UI stinks(!) and the waterproof functions are now limited i do not think that xperia phones are in the top options.
