Mike, 22 Jan 2010Nokia owns Navteq and TomTom owns Tele Atlas. So TomTom use Tele Atlas maps. So what about garmin? who/whom do they belong to/get their maps from?

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2010what do you think apple and android will do to compete with this noia smart movie?
2010 nok... moreapple is leeching from google for it's maps service and google is leeching apple for it's money while nokia has the upper had with being the owner of NAVTEQ they already have TomTom or Garmin giving them money for the support
so either way if people download and or buy the TomTom software on iphone or any other device that supports it or gps is giving back to nokia lol so they don't have to worry so much
Anonymous, 22 Jan 2010Your comment here is just show you are capacitve screen lover, resistive screen or capacitive ... moreYou're right,i'm a capacitive + Multitouch input fan.
For me people using touchscreen with stylus is so oldies, resistive is better use for drawing and handwriting recognition but that's all, hell i can do that stuff even better than any resistive screen in my 3Gs.
Now let's wait for the next move from nokia,i'd still prefer android than symbian, cause symbian is a failure and complete garbage in touchscreen Os,be it's by nokia or samsung.
Like i said,my salute is for nokia, never for symbian so i'll be waiting your next move nokia.

2010 nokia phones will amaze us with maemo6 mu.titouch
Symbian 3 multtouch
It's a great move for Nokia since the S60 (5th) system is really complicated (signing software, non-user-friendly UI...), and this free GPS navigation would be a 'compensation' for it.
This 'policy' will benefit Nokia for a while, but not that long.
Don't forget the iPhone, Android...
Nokia, wake up!
N97 (no mini) user, 22 Jan 2010No N97 support?well if 5800 supported n97 will be
go to the link and look under support
for other devices : ))
Although N86 8MP is not listed as a compatible phone for Ovi Maps 3.3, I downloaded the map and voice update (via Nokia Map Loader). I've now got navigation for free. (I'm currently using Ovi Maps 3.01).
Lee UK, 22 Jan 2010Well, I tried my best to download it for my 5800 but it's not having it There is no availab... moreSame thing mate, my 5800 is locked to 3 uk, and as usual no firmware update. So i am stuck on v30 while officially version 40 is out, so I cant use the new navigation.... and niether the new kinetic scrolling in v 40
This is how it should have been from the beginning! But anyhow, great move from NOKIA!
And i just bought a Samsung jet with it´s Route 66 paid navigation software.Haven´t paid for it nor am i willing to do so.Should have bought Nokia.I knew it... xD
Does this update apply on N900?
I downloaded this 3.3 on my 5800xm, it installed just fine. But when started to use the new ovi maps, my phone just crashed down. Second try the Display went black and nothing worked... Not even button sounds. I had to remove the battery.
Third attempt. Result black screen, 15-20 sec. Later homescreen pops up. Maps was shut down.
And where is the new update for the phone it self? Huh. I live in Finland and it seems that we get ewerything last.
N97 classic support? It is just a matter of time due to the memory c in thois phone,
n95 e71 users are waiting too
nokia will consider producing dedicated gps device for the world?
Ovi map is unbeatable, nokia phone call quality is super, nokia phones 2010 are much better!
Nokia keep it up!!!!!!
Wait when can we download and play ovi racing
