Hey, the Z1 series isn't that old. The Z1 Compact released in 2014, So it's not a surprise that it got 5.1.1.

Applauding sony for supporting old hardware. Im glad I purchased a xperia z tablet over samsung tab back then. Sony shows that they are the manufacturer to go for android! Feel bad for owners of samsung products not getting updates after one year

The Xperia M2 Aqua is going to see Lollipop when Apple goes bankrupt.

This is what it should've been for all Android devices with capable hardware from day one. Lack of support and updates is what irks me a lot about Android.

The Z1 series were released alongside the Nexus 5. They aren't that old. The real surprise is that Sony also updated the original Z serie. Beside The Nexus 4, this make Sony the only manufacturer to bring 5.1.1 to an early 2013 phone.
