Akinaro, 16 Sep 2015I never heard bigger B##it in my life....
I would not even comment this, because I just can... moreAre you trying to imply that the new Opera browser is not using Google Analytics? Or that the Opera Browser Company isn't for sale? (http://www.computerworld.com/article/2968277/web-browsers/opera-browser-maker-up-for-sale.html) Or that somehow, this closed-source, Chromium ripoff is more secure than Firefox with NoScript and AdBlocking?
The original Opera browser was better. You could have vertical, tree-style tabs, private browsing sessions in the same window as normal browsing, NoScript style element-level JS blocking. None of that exists now. It is a poorly re-skinned Chrome, with tracking. The original devs have all left and the company will be sold by this time next year.
Have fun in your little fantasy world with your sell-out browser.
Anonymous, 15 Sep 2015lol. Load up wireshark and look at what Opera is doing, if you really believe that.

I would not even comment this, because I just cant stop laughing... I just feel sorry for people who think like that without even touching this topic not to mention app it self...

It is n... moreHaha. You may be right, I've heard about them wanting to sell it but didn't hear any further news. I do have uBlock (Google Analytics is blocked as untrusted), Disconnect and Privacy Plus on Opera and it's my secondary browser.
For primary, it's always Firefox with BluHell, NoScript, Canvas Blocker and Disconnect. Opera had a good start, they did the basics together with Google and then separated, and they seem to be doing some things differently, mouse gestures etc. If what you say is true, doesn't seem good...
I'm keeping an eye on Vivaldi (it's still in beta, no extensions either) and I'll check out Otter. Thanks. :-)

It is nothing more than a re-branded Chrome these days. They even forgot to disable the Google Analytics. Your Opera browser is reporting both to Opera, and to Google.
There's a reason all the Opera leadership and devs left, and current leadership is trying to sell the company. It's dead. Opera died when they decided to abandon their loyal users, made fun of their Linux users, and then become nothing more than a Chrome skin with less features.
Vivaldi Browser for former Opera users. Otter Browser for former Opera Linux users. Firefox with Noscript and Adblock if you really care about privacy and security.
I personally use opera desktop as my second browser love it simple and fast but not fully functional as chrome, I gonna test edge browser as soon as it become complete!!!
MdN8, 15 Sep 2015Who uses a Google product when there's a better alternative? Opera is lighter on the memory an... moreTrue. I support Opera Mini but only the Mobile version. Data saving and use less processing power. It also indirectly help to block pop up ads and even webpage inner ads due to data saving mode it have. Absolutely love it. I'm talking about the new version of Opera Mini, not the old one. They have a seperate newer version of Opera Mini in Play Store.
I'm not bothered with data savings. Safari all the way!
AnonD-436155, 15 Sep 2015Haha I agree. Who uses opera when there is Chrome. Who uses a Google product when there's a better alternative? Opera is lighter on the memory and processor, looks better, and doesn't track you as much as Google does or sell your data. Some people care about that.
Arif238, 15 Sep 2015VPN network of Opera is free or paid? 500MB free, pay for more. Just tried, not available for Linux.
Anonymous, 15 Sep 2015i wonder who uses opera on desktopHaha I agree. Who uses opera when there is Chrome.
