can you tell me which bank debit card you are using on playstore because I have a debit issued October 2013 and it is written on that card "Global Card" but when I try to purchase on playstore it says invalid card number but other online transaction like on FreeCharge or Paytm is just fine.

More Indian debit cards work on Microsoft store than they do on Google Play. Reason - MS supports 3D code authentication while Google Play does not.

Good initiative but considering the Indian Economical scenario they should have also launched some gift card below the value of Rs 500, considering the fact that it will be purchased solely by Android user and for android users, and android largely caters the smartphone needs of middle class people in India.

Some folks seem to be fuming about the inavailability of debit card usage, well its the same with Apple's IOS store & Microsoft! So no need to target Google! There is propabably some complication in allowing debit/Atm cards!!
