It's only to show off and Sony really needed something new to show off.
Increasing resolution above 1080p on a mobile screen is a waste of battery in my opinion. Thats why Z5 looks more appealing to me.

The type of people who moan about not being able to read their txt messages in 4k
And to stream sub 720p youtube videos, are the same ones who have the brightness full on, and leave Bluetooth turned on all the time because they "like the flashy blue"

Good move on Sonys behalf, but it wouldn't have hurt to be more honest in declaring all the battery optimizing features Pre-sales

What i would have liked is a click on system for attaching lenses to the camera including adapters for existing lenses, like the NX range.

Coming to the topic, I don't mind if the 4K display is just for media... The menu and all is ok in FullHD, really what's wrong with it?
I'm not sure if Apps and games are compatible with 4K as of now....

At least we could consider adding this phone with such a feature to the list of future-proof phones. We may not need it now but it could prove useful and could stay relevant later on

There was the idea that users wouldn't be able to discern any increases in resolution once it got to a certain level, but that's wrong. People can tell." Kurozumi adds, "We now need the right size for phones, the right processors capable of running 4K. We're looking for [these] solutions." Smartphones would also need enough battery power to run on such a high resolution for a respectable amount of time." Smith, M. (2014) Source: www.engadget.com/2014/03/21/sony-xperia-z2-4k/

Moreover if your internet speed can't reach there 4K require, the upscaling technology could be the last straw for all low bandwidth country.

Android phones are all about numbers but nothing IRL ... the problem is that people don't read much into thier stuff High numbers doesn't mean High quality

I'm not saying that 4K screens and content on a mass scale don't have a future, but not 2015. Perhaps next year.

As you pointed out, when you have to tweak things unnecessarily within a product to accommodate the hardware, it means something's gone amiss a little and the focus is more on technology and the competition, than the consumer. So, what are we paying for at the end of the day? 1080p most of the time, plus photos and videos (actually, only the ones we took since there are no other sources!) in an insanely high DPI our eyes can't even see?
