This actually solve my worry over the 810 isn't designed for 4k screen and having a 4k screen is overkill when you didn't have a 4k content in the first place, I wish we could somehow have the option to change the resolution at wish though :).

Its only QHD screen displaying FHD content bcz sony doesnt tweak the UI to optimize the screen. About photo and videos it can run at 4K bcz of GPU capability.
The true is sony didnt do anything for its 4K display..

frankly, i find it EXTREMELY impressive that they're having a variable resolution option for their phone. wow! i wish i had that on my el sammo!! with the option to manually change resolution as i please (as opposed to sony's implementation).

4K will be great in 2 years, but it's just too soon for this technology to go mainstream when even developed countries don't have the infrastructure to properly stream the content.

i always admired sony for not entering the QHD gimmick,but then they introduced the 4k display and i was shocked!!!!OMG 4k WTF!!!
i'm glad they are still sane and wise,
you need 4k videos? VR? you got it , but you don't have to waste the battery on 4k always.
the phone remains 1080 ,very smart move.

I dont see any problem here. This is logical what sony did. why would you use 4k if you watch fullhd. that would be stupid. the phone use 4k when need to use to save power. this phone is really beast and very beautiful but i think you critisize sony every time. after all 4k is too sharp for our eyes. all i can say is that SONY makes excellent phones and I wish them good luck. I own xperia Z2 and it is perfect phone for me and my needs. I am very satisfied with battery while my friends owning iphone6 and galaxy s6 charge them every day.
