Why so much hate here? Why you all so happy to see a company failing? Are you that low?

I think you who laughing do not know how difficult it is to build and raising a competitive company.

I've been using several device from several manufacturer, Asus,Apple,Sony,Samsung,LG,Siemens, Motorola, Nokia, etc. I love option, not just some monopoly. I thought you android fan love option, I read and heard that so many times, you bragging about that all the time when debating with Apple fan.

Cheers

Apple Fan boy never understand this ''LOGIC'' as SONY said All other content is displayed at 1080P or lower resolution in order to optimize the performance and battery :D Even iphone 6 Plus currently 1080P screen but the apps doesnt running at 1080P but 700P or 640P #incomingbutthurt

that's actually a smart thing to do by sony. this is efficient resource management of sorts because the phone's using the hardware only when need. in term increases battery life and puts less strain on the chip.

It doesnt need a trick. The sofware is almost the same with z5. With 4k display it run that way automaticly.

To optimise the ui for 4k display, that one needs a trick..

The actual problem is that android still doesn't support the 800+ ppi of this phone. So Sony only designed the media apps at this dpi and used the rest at 1080p. This also helps reduce battery consumption. As they are not using 1440 for the upscale and using 1080p instead, this will mean a 1:1 upscaling- which will be more sharper and less GPU intensive than upscaling 1440p.

Seems Sony has used the same tricks used in their wonderful bravia tv range.

aaa, 19 Sep 2015it's obviously that you are a Samsung fan and troll sony Uhh, how is that trolling? All I did was state the facts. Maybe you should read my comment again. I said 'That's actually quite a good way around having so many pixels on a display', which means I'm praising what Sony did. Learn to read. >.>

Thats not a problem at all. 4k resolution would drain batter too much. 1080p is still enough sharp screen so..i dont know what you ppl rant about. Just go and buy something else. Sony z5 will be more power efficient now that we know story behind 4k screen
