Anyway, I'm certainly not impressed. Taiwan have free Wifi on a mass scale to its citizen since a few years ago. The country is practically a Wifi hotspot. Even tourist can use it. Not backed by Google but by Taiwan government that launch "iTaiwan" in 2011. That is how you give free Wifi to everyone.

Are you serious? Microsoft announced plans to bring low cost broadband to half a million villages in India, and you guys chose to write about 100 railway stations getting free wifi.

I still believe that there are companies who are willing give free products and/or services but i don't think google is one. Indians will be sufferring from huge taxes and fare increase.

AnonD-434597, 28 Sep 2015I still dont get it. Can you explain?Don't you get it? Nothing is free in this world. They will increase the travel fare of the train stations. That free Wifi need to have some sort of income system to support it. What kind of idiot would Google's CEO, Sundar Pichai be if he just gives free wifi? Google just testing the water just like how they were using the Google Project Loon in Sri Lanka for internet access.

I don't care about that, just bring non-FUP 2-4 mbps broadband in this country first. It will be a joke to have free WiFi when even wired broadband speed on average is 512 kbps.
