Strange article.
iPhone 6 and Plus was made available in these countries:
US, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and the UK
iPhone 6S and Plus was made available in these countries:
US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, the UK
Apple doubled the amount of potential customers(!)... yet the sale only increased 30%. Now that is putting things in perspective. Not like it's made in the article...which is misleading :)

IOS, iPhone and Apple services are tightly integrated. Having any of these items run as a standalone item destroys the experience, both on a service and software performance level.
Running Android on iPhone hardware wouldn't work well, likewise running iOS on other hardware would offer mixed results.
The Apple ecosystem is so successful because all parts together work very well.

AnonD-116780, 29 Sep 2015Why there is so much hate and jealousy? Haters are always going to hate. No one can compete ... moreiphones have large bezels and the ugly front. The back with the apple logo is what makes them attractive except the protruding camera. The 6 plus and 6s plus have the dimensions of a 5.7 inch phone so they should have put a 5.7 inch screen also stereo or atleast a single speaker on the front rather than on the bottom.

Don't forget that samsung assembles mainly in china, japan, india and other countries it doest mean its china's phone or is it?
Samsung made $1.4 billion dollars last year for quarter from iPhone 6 sales.
$20 dollars for one A8 chip times 71 million.
Right now its about 85 million iPhone 6 users and 35 million iPhone 6+ users.
Of course samsung will be labors, they really in need.

It's impossible for Apple to offer their iOS to other brands, it's like they're digging their own grave if they'll do that. Apple is a closed ECOSYSTEM.

i think there's a reason why apple sells always higher than other brands...it is because of the OS than runs the phone...android fans can always switch from other brand to another, while the iOS fans has no choice but to stick with Apple...imagine if the iOS can be runs in other brand device, I don't think Apple can sell their device that well...
