Good for Apple this hot opening weekend.
For All people arguing IOS and Android, do this test yourselves:
Get a device with a dual core 1GHz processor, 512 Mb ram, 8 Gb internal storage and try to download, run and play REAL RACING 3 on any Android with these specs and a device using IOS ( of course it is only iPhone 4s ;-)).....
Then you realize what IOS means...
Superiority, superiority, superiority....
Lastly: Be objective, don't try to prove that IOS is average, while actually it is now the best optimized OS ...not convinced???....then do the test above!!!

New Survey Supports A... moreApple's success is due to marketing and simplicity.
Marketing is nothing to boast about, it doesn't make the product better (unless you're a sheep who get off on having a product that you think others like).
Simplicity is also of little value to anyone who spends as much time here as you, or pretty much anyone who's willing to even visit this website.
Thus, boasting about any numbers of that kind doesn't say anything other than how you are a sheep. Or you have deluded yourself into thinking you work for Apple, but I don't think their marketing is THAT good just yet.

IOS is used only for iPhone and no other company can use it and its like 100+ different phone brands/companies worldwide use android because they can't make their own operation system that can beat IOS or android at current time or in near future. You better compare iPhone to Samsung, Sony or HTC alone. I don't even count those cheap android phones that have limited ram memory and slow processor or works only for calling and nothing more as marketshare and u can get it for free through carrier with contract. Your story have no sense.

We ... moreAre you really comparing marketshare here? Ask from, sony/lg/samsung/htc how's that growing marketshare actually helping them when everyone of those releasing bad q results q after q with lowering sales. Whats the point of comparing 1000 android companies against one company?
You trying to say android 80% share is good then it's actually very bad thing for companies. Its interesting to see how long those companies can sell phones without making money, android is killing them slowly.

Obviously Android market share will increase because its just an operating system which is slapped onto so many different manufacturers handsets.
You can compare that to IOS which is only on one manufacturers handsets.
Whats even worse is that each manufacturer (non Apple) can decide if they want to upgrade their phones to the latest android os and not many of them do because they want you to buy their latest handsets.
At least the latest iOS is supported on many of Apple's older products.

Unless you can mention another company approaching a trillion dollar market cap? Go ahead get creative now, any company at all on the face of planet earth? That's why investors should care that iOS is growing. What you think, probably has very little effect on the iOS Magic the world is falling in love with. We are comparing Android with like 82-83% worldwide marketshare against Apple's 14%.
So my question is, who cares that Apple steals some few Android users as long as the marketshare shows that Apple isn't really stealing from Android?
Come back later when the Android marketshare worldwide starts to fall because of Apple, if that ever happens.

So no it's not like that what you said, People still want expensive flagship phones but they are buying iPhones, which this news also very well proves.

You could always buy last years model for cheaper price(5s , 6).. why Apple "have" to make a compromising device at lower cost ?

I'm saying: Let me tell you something. Peoples have realized that they don't have to pay 800-900 dollars for a phone to get a very good experience and to get a phone that does everything they want it to do. You can get smartphones to 400 dollars that is good enough by a large margin for what the normal user does infact needs on the phone.
Therefor the sales for the most expensive phones to Samsung have gone down while Samsung sells more of the cheaper phones.
Why pay 900 dollar for a phone when you can pay 400 dollar for a phone that does the exact same things good and fast enough for the majority of the users. It's here Samsung is doing a knock out on Apple, as Samsung gives peoples the phones they want rather than just giving them something expensive where you don't have any other choices than paying a butt load of money if you want to be in the iOS universe.

I'm saying: Apple can make cheap, or at least much cheaper phones over what they have now and still do good business with that. If Samsung can do that, then Apple for sure can do it. But hey, more profits are more important, right?
