ANONYMOUS, 28 Sep 2015I hate how the Google based Nexus phones get all the good stuff before us Samsung users. Also most of the useful features coming with android 6 already are present on Samsung phones since Android 5. Doze mode is what Low/Ultra Power Saving does. Do u really care about app permissions? Samsung already has fingerprint scanner support.

Compared to boring stock Android, I would prefer to wait. And Samsung has been updating it's phone quickly since last year. Reports suggest they are already working on Android 6 for S6 family and Note 5.so the wait won't be long.

They need to layer it with crapwiz first before sending it out.

                        Zero known cases of exploitation.

So why are you talking about patching lollipop when it doesn't work with lollipop to begin with?

Sure, it does seem like a problem. But in all honesty its been exaggerated by quite a lot for something that hasn't been proven to work, let alone actually been exploited.

And NO, it wasn't fixed for the majority of devices. Google did release a patch for the issue, but the manufacturers did NOT bother to release patched ROMs (which is the only way to fix it).

There were other security stuff in the hardware that meant it couldn't be exploited anyway. Look it up, and while youre at it tell me how many people were actually complaining about something having happened due to stagefright. But of course, it was still directly patched in the end.

IOS on the other hand has had far more bugs. Ios8 in particular was described to me as a 'buggy mess' with more bugs being inflicted with patches.

AnonD-445708, 28 Sep 2015Not really the same. When android phones get the update, they get the whole update. And the ... more"And if they don't get the update, they still get the security updates through google play services every six weeks." -- You are throwing sand into people's eyes. Try to fix your device's kernel via Google Play. Where's that Stagefright fix via Google Play? THERE ISN'T, it requires a ROM compilation by the manufacturer.

The security updates you talk about are very limited in what they can do. Sure, if it's just an app that's at fault or Google Service's then sure, it will work. Otherwise you are stuck with an insecure phone. That's the shame of Android.
