I gave up on Motorola after buying two generations of Motos. It's either one of the Nexus phones now, or even an iPhone. I don't like broken promises.
Anonymous, 02 Oct 2015Moto is all talk, actual updates take foreverYeah, based on past updates, it will be Summer 2016 before Android 6.0 rolls out to these devices.

I agree though, the device isn't even a year old yet it's not getting any updates. One of the reasons I've got my parents a Motorola device was because they were updating their phones rather well, and now this.
luffy199, 02 Oct 2015Won't be updating the phone if the moto features are gone.... Why are they removing it? It's ... moreMost of them have substitutes in the app store or in marshmallow. I may be wrong but it may be possible to just install the apk of moto assist if you can download it from somewhere on the internet.
Motorola you promised at least 2 years software update back in 2014 at the launch of first gen moto e. Now where is my guaranteed update at least for 2 years?? You cheated us...f**k u motorola.
Amshekh, 02 Oct 2015That's one thing great about Motorola, even before arrival of Marshmallow they have declared f... moreSamsung announced it more than a month ago, also Motorola is leaving moto e and g out if the game also the old moto x which has decent Hardware and was one of their flagships
Now i realize i shouldn't have bought my 3 months old moto e LTE since it never got any update ( it's still stuck in 5.0.2 because it is XT 1524). Lenovo will destroy the motorola everybody loved. There is always cyanogenmod alternative.
Moto E 2nd gen is few month older device not get update to Android 6.0 worst thinking of Motorola.. without giving the update why you still selling this device Motorola ???
I'm bit confused. "Moto G 4G (2nd gen)" but the link leads to first 4G from summer 2014. Which I have.
i have been recomending motorola because of it update policy, but how can i recomend it now if the 2gen moto e doesn't get the M update, it is only a few months old!!!
No Moto G (1st Gen)? I know it can handle it...way to screw loyal customers. Oh well, I'll wait for CM13.
That's one thing great about Motorola, even before arrival of Marshmallow they have declared for updates unlike other android phone manufacturers.
As expected only the fairly new devices will get it.. Since Google sold Motorola to Lenovo i'm assuming that's why they're not releasing 6.0 to older gen Moto devices.
It's quite unacceptable that the 2nd gen Moto E doesn't get the update, considering it's super new and has similar hardware to the 2nd gen Moto E.
Moto G 1st Gen and 2nd Gen have pretty much the same hardware yet the first Gen isn't getting update??? That sucks.
