i dont think that's true about the S6 not having an overheating issue:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlnlW6sOP7w

i think only the iphone 6s/6s plus don't suffer from overheating issues in 4k as much as any android.

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2015That is not true. The S6 can keep on recording without any issues essentially forever. Forever? There's a limit. Are u talking about ordinary or 4K recording? You've to appreciate Sony for trying to solve the heating problem. Use the new SD810 and then please comment. I can understand brand loyalty, but please don't criticise blindly. Each model has got its pros and cons which may not be ur cup of tea.

40min is long enough for a 4k video. A smartphone is not the right device to shoot an entire movie ...

Gio, 07 Oct 2015Stop using the Snapdrgon 810 ! LG did a good thing using the 808Obviously, 808 does not support high end device such as z5 series. 808 supports up to 21mpx cameras and 2k native display

AnonD-108104, 06 Oct 2015Obliviously we wont be able to make it possible in every scenarios. The heat will change accor... moreTrue, but there is no limit at least to how long Z5 can record in 4k, and I bet that during the upcoming cold winter days we will be recording in 4k A LOT because the phone will be warming up our hands :)
Who says that 810's temperature only has downsides? Hell I bet that we will be recording in 4k indefinitely during very cold days when with other phones you have a limit lol.

This isn't really a 4K video test since none of the phone is actually capturing a single frame of video. If the reason for testing is to see how well the phone handles CPU workload that comes from capturing 4K video, putting the phones with the camera faced down , you're not actually using any processing power. You're basically turn the camera and not using it (hence the reason why the phones kept going into sleep mode- the phone/CPU isn't being used at all).

Now tell me that buying phone with 16GB of storage and no card slot is good idea.
Typical apps and games can take from 3 to 5GB of space
Music take from 1 to 4GB of space
Pictures and some videos can take from 1 to even 4GB of space
and now imagine if you want videos is 4k or ONLY 2k...

minimum is 32GB AND microSD card

But of course someone say that you can stream music and videos... yeah, tell me that you stream most of your music and videos and your internet AND battery is still alive after 2 hours...

And you sheep's but those phone instead of showing them that its enough of that buIIsit and its time to make phones with MINIMUM 3500mAh batteries and 32GB ram.
Screw thickness no one care if phone is 7mm or 7.5mm

Right now Sony should say to other companies:if you dare remove your 5 min limitation for 4k recording and see who's the last phone standing.

qery, 06 Oct 2015Well I can't totally agree with this test. My Z5 Compact could record only about 12-14 minutes... moreObliviously we wont be able to make it possible in every scenarios. The heat will change according to the climate conditions.
