Even though i understand that the z1 has at this moment over 2 years since it's release, its specs are very good even for the present. I believe it would send a good message to have it update, even later. And i really don't think that not having it update will make anyone buy a newer model, if anything it might make some jump ships. Those who want the newest gadget buy it regardless if the olds one stop or do not stop receiving updates. I currently own a z1 and i love it, my contract will expire in 6 months. Having the z1 on an update list will give me another reason to purchase another sony smartphone. Not saying that i won't otherwise but it will be a minus on my list, it might have been understandable not to update if the z1 had lower specs, but its specs are impressive considering it was released 2 years ago.

And what of the Sony Z3 Dual and all the other dual within that range, Sony set up a lot of people with the SP me being one. And I swore I will not buy another Sony and I was going to switch to Samsung cause at least they keep promises to update as far back as 2nd gen. phones, but I stuck with Sony bought the Z3 Dual, come on Sony you all really starting to play up in allyuh F*** A**, if you don't update this phone at least to the 6.0 version, I will be among a 10K plus users that will switch phones to Samaung

I have activated my Xperia on my new Xperia z4, after a few days I decided to reset my phone, when I did it I came to realize that it needs my Google acount to log in,and I'm totally lost about the Gmail I have set on it,now you can't use my phone can any of you guys help me here? Should I throw it in the dumpster? In case any one can help me please email me on Internet8791@gmail.com. You will be so kind if you could help.

When you forget your Google acount on your Xperia when you activate my Xperia section does it really mean that you have lost your.... Dollar phone that simple?and that is nothing more than a trash anymore?

Sony is on a 18-month update cycle. It doesn't matter if the phone is more than capable to run the new OS. They need to make $$$. If you don't like this, get a nexus.

Z1c is not 2 years old yet and basically has similar specs to Z2,Z3 & Z3c so I would say that Sony should reconsider its upgrade policy.
