They don't always buy products that are "home made". Americans are buying more playstations this generation compared to Xboxes. They are buying Toyotas and Hondas in huge quantity. They are buying more bmws than cadillacs. It's all about cash and fashion. People who have the cash would buy iphones 8 times out of 10 (1.5 for Samsung high end, 0.5 for other brands), people who are image-conscious would get iphones 9.99/10, simply because apple is a premium brand, while Samsung is the Walmart of phones.

Especially ... moreApps have better functionality (notifications, etc.), and are generally supposed to be more user friendly on a mobile device, and take less data. Just use the YouTube app and compare it with the YouTube website.

Just some stupid questions! Why is it that so many people always try and throw crap
at each other. If the article is about Apple mostly Samsung people like to say something stupid or bad about Apple. Same goes for Apple fans when it comes to Android phones and more for Samsung phones than for other Android brands. My friends consists of Iphone and Samsung owners mostly and they could not care less about what phones other people has. As long as people is happy with their phone and feel it was worth the price of buying them why should other people care? All phones or phone operating systems doesn't suit all people.
Be happy with the phones you have and care less about what other people use. Because no one can tell me what phone to use or like.

Nope it's not that.... moreNonetheless it is IMHO very applaudable that a large community of US residents stick to a US product from an US corporation. Samsung after all is a NON-US company. Just as the majority of Android handset-developpers nowadays. In that respect I find it weird that no more Motorola Android phones had been sold in the US. Motorola which after all was one o/t main innovators of cellular technology but is now shoved off to some Chinese faceless fab. Sad really. IMHO US residents should be more proud of their tech and indeed embrace US companies for as long as possible. If that means going Apple.... then why not?

I'm probably too stupid to understand this so perhaps some smarter people in here can enlighten me? Why would you use a separate app that uses valuable storage space (especially in Android which can only install apps on internal storage) if you can just as well use your webbrowser to do the same?

Nope it's not that. They somehow believe they got a membershipcard to the club of the "rich and famous" if they have an iPhone.
Anyway, if 44% of all US people can buy these ridiculously expensive phones then it's clearly going quite well with the economy. Perhaps someone can explain to me why I don't get more interest-rate at the banks on my savings?

As someone mentioned that not all Android phones have Google's store (Nokia X anyone) but that should mean that Play's percentage should be LESS compared to marketshare not more. I think these companies like comscore etc. are as crazy as a bat and are completely clueless. IMHO they just throw darts or make these figures up.
