First off, I'm an avid Android user and developer.
Even before this statements Elon was my hero, because he contributed to the world in leaps and bounds in comparison to Steve Jobs (nice gimmicks maker).
Elon pushes science much much further than Steve ever did. Sorry, but that's a FACT!
But I don't think that such a reputable person should ever lower himself to this level (he did correct himself on twitter though).
If a engineer was fired from Tesla Motors and still loves to build cars, I see no reason to jump ship to Apple, if they're hiring.

He is thinking that promoting himself is as good as promoting his company's products! Not all can become Steve Jobs....Elon is doing many exciting things through Tesla but he cannot afford to promote himself through such jabs

Secondly, the conversation I was responding to had one person claiming there is no rising interest in Apple. I was merely pointing out the fact that they sell a record number of devices each year, which you can clearly see from their quarterly releases. When you are selling more and more of something each year that generally means there is rising interest. Can you point me to the part of my comment that referenced profit?
As a consumer the more phones Apple sells, the more developer and third party support I get. Can you join the dots now?

Next year Apple will introduce its first round-face smartwatch. Not sure if they have the technology. Smartwatch are already moving forward by the time Apple enters round-face design. We are moving to the Wove Band type of design. A flexible display will begin to trend in 2016.

Chargers are one of the few things standardized in the EV segment right now. The fact that Tesla does not want to standardize that and open up their charging network to other companies gives you an idea about their mindset. They are closer to Apple than Google. Thus nullifying your fellow fanboy's statements.
EV is a segment of the auto industry. It is not a platform like an OS. The people on this site need to stop talking about cars. They need to stick to simple spec sheets.
