Of course tallies with redmi 1s or 2 and android kitkat is a good workhorse no doubt. Perhaps Xiaomi has used a different chipset (mediatek?) in this model so that its major problems of heating and battery drain in 1s or 2 is "solved" in spite of MIUI 6 or 7. Could it be that Xiaomi is going to introduce a high power exclusive gaming device for use alongside by the next-gen 'adventure' youth force? Is that the meaning of the byline "separate the lens from camera" in those leaked(!) teasers?

lg user, 12 Oct 2015people complain for everything.... kit kat is the best android os for now. it is almost lag f... moreProbably u have not used a xiaomi phone before , i am using redmi 1s since 1 year, spec wise its a very good device but the problem is MIUI, its heaviest rom available in Android ecosystem i guess. Out of 1 gb ram free ram is about 300-350 mb only. So its much worse than a phone running stock Android with 512 mb ram

It makes me laugh how obsessed people are with updates! Android has several versions which are all fine. .I've got a galaxy S4 and i still live this phone. .It's actually still too good to upgrade! I have resisted Android 5.0.1 for it since it seems that kitkat is actually better. I'm happy to keep it on kitkat.. There isn't a need to be on 5..or even 6.. 3 major versions of Android in the ecosystem is NORMAL and all work totally fine!

people complain for everything.... kit kat is the best android os for now. it is almost lag free and runs apps and games way better than any other android version avaliable... whats wrong with u ....xiaomi did well selecting 4.4.4 wich even runs decent with 512 mb of ram so 1 gb means smooth ...this is antry level for basic users if u want a power house for a low end price them u are wrong place ..look for used and refurbish insted. willows

Good luck with that.i still use a 2010 xperia with less than 1GB ram, and works flawlessly, all messaging apps and internet related apps works fine they are all updated (had an issues with wathasapp but they fixed it), only problem is with games, but i don't use for games, only for checking mails, reply messages to the few people with its number and as a portable music player.
it all goes back to how you use your phone

Nope, this seems to be powered by a different chipset as the SD410 on the Redmi 2 is clocked at 1.2GHz while the Leadcore on the 2A is clocked at 1.5GHz.
