The BlackBerry PRIV scored an 82 when tested by DXOMark as well. It should be on the list with the rest of the handsets that scored an 82.

The Sony A7r mark 11 is the best high end top professional camera beating all the top dslr's from canon, nikon to mention a few. The Z5 camera ranks top in smartphone camera what other evidence do you need fellow. Stop hammering around the bush with this gibberish of among the top 5. It's clear who's rated no 1 in every sector.

I'm an avid Apple hater, but I like to be as objective as I can.
I don't quite understand this ranking:
Didn't GSMArena always point out that the Sony Xperia lineup doesn't always have the best camera and other manufactuers that use Sony's sensors produce better results (irony much).
And didn't Apple actually upgraded their camera sensors (8>12Mp, 4K, slow-mo,...)?
How does this get the same score?! I really don't understand all of this!
The only thing that's consistent with GSMArena's claims is the S6 Edge which is 2nd.

Of course it isn't going to be a wide gap at the end cause all of them have top notch hardware. Bottom line, the Sony z5 is the best overall read the review and see the point system of dxomark.

Ale, 14 Oct 2015It's funny, one thing has become clear when reading these comments: Dx0Mark is loved by the... moreNot all Sony users are biased so it is wrong for u to generalize. When the s6 was rated the best camera by dxomark earlier in the year i never made a comment refuting it, i watched some comparison videos and i could see the s6 had a far superior auto mode than the z3 and plus. But in manual or pro mode the z3 held its own and performed better in a lot of areas and the s6 in other areas. But the z5 has been greatly improved in the superior auto mode, it's beats the s6 in most categories while the s6 beats it in a few. The problem a lot of these tech sites have is that they only look at the superior auto mode while carrying out tests, it's nobody's fault that the i phone has no manual or professional mode to thinker with settings. Why all these tech sites seem to make their assertions based on only one mode is beyond me. That doesn't prove which camera overall has the best quality, it only shows the camera with the best quality in one category or mode. Dxomark on the other hand do all tests on the camera and video before coming to conclusion that's why you'll find a lot of Sony smartphones in their top 10, top 20 list followed by Samsung.

I think this list is not complete at all. They should test the new chinese smartphones - like Gionee (Allview, Blu XL) which offers a 24 MP camera capable doing almost- i mean almost the same as my Canon 6D with 17-40 f/4L. Test method: 17-40@f/5.6@24mm, RAW file exported from Adobe Lightroom vs Allview X2 Xtreme. I bet this Allview beats any smartphone from that list.

Apple does have strong customer loyalty yes, but other brands also enjoy a faithful following. In my experience in the GSMAerna comments sections at least, Sony fans are particularly rabid in their defence of they're beloved brand.
Apple fans who exhibit this behaviour are often termed 'Sheeple', what in the name of fairness should we call Sony fans I wonder????

I'm not saying it's not comparable, it's just they don't want to compete in India. With 30% taxes on manufacturers who don't MAKE IN INDIA, Apple is forced to sell iPhones as niche product. Practically speaking, I' m an Indian & I have seen that most people don't spend $200+ on a phone & those who do mostly likely buy the iPhone. Regardless, what other companies offer, S6, Note5, One 9+, Droid or any other flagship, hardly find any buyers. So, Apple's strategy is working & luckily India has enough riches who can afford iPhone as a style statement & they do.

DxOMark may be seem accurate, while acually it is not. Personal experience proven.

Got my Z5 earlier this week, can't fault the camera one bit! Absolutly stunning!
To be honest so far the Z5 has done nothing but impress me in all areas, only thing I would say is battery life is less impressive than exected. That's not to say its bad to be honest its good, maybe my expectations were to high and was hoping for too much.
