Diego, 14 Oct 2015At 1nm (maybe even at 10) you start to get weird quantum tunneling effects, so the transistors... moreIMPOSSIBLE???
I'm working in a foundry and we already have working 10nm chip and we are working on 7nm and 4nm.
AnonD-387282, 15 Oct 2015there will be no more snapdragon 840 i guess it will be snapdragon 1000 with 10yoctometer. lolWe haven't moved to Angstrom yet and you are talking about Yocto? You sure are fast.
7nm is the limit of current process of fab the chip, fyi
10nm process is the best way for killing Overheating Issue & give more space for other components
by the way, where's Mediatek?
ooww...they want make 100-core processor
waste energy !!!

By changing the architecture and incorporating quantum phenomenon as part of the design, TFET or some similar design will overcome the current limitations and help us to get us closer to 1nm dies.
Some good papers available at the IEEE website.
810 ,820, 830,840....
What about move mid-range line up to smaller process?
next gen 600 series will still based on 28nm process, not talking about 400 series.
Thank you, Qualcomm!
AnonD-364786, 14 Oct 2015Gimmick is what exynos doesHe was generally speaking. Lol.
AnonD-444106, 14 Oct 201510nm not 1 nm Why everybody say this isnt possibleAt 1nm (maybe even at 10) you start to get weird quantum tunneling effects, so the transistors will give false readings. This makes it impossible to build transistors that small.
Anonymous, 14 Oct 2015Why they don't start using graphite? Why wait anymore? All improvements of the microchips are ... moreGimmick is what exynos does
Why they don't start using graphite? Why wait anymore? All improvements of the microchips are related just to make it smaller and smaller. They should invest in R&D and make other improvements to chips and not some marketing gimmick improvements but real improvements.
10nm not 1 nm
Why everybody say this isnt possible
[deleted post]I'm pretty sure you can, provided you wanted to... Only thing stopping you is your mind.
AnonD-246723, 14 Oct 2015Still cant move the mountain while not moving it .That's a contradictory statement, my man, but I'm working on it. That would require manipulating time. I'm studying under the tutelage of Hiro Nakamura, so eventually, I will. :)
[deleted post]I do it all the time, so you should be able to as well. Tacos were made for doing just that. :p
OMG, no removable battery?
Anonymous, 14 Oct 2015what are you guys reading? it says 10nm.And second i dont see any logic to it when it comes to... moreAre you kidding? While it's certainly possible to produce 10nm chips right now it's simply too expensive to do on a large scale yet. As far as mass production goes 14nm is cutting edge technology at the moment.
For months now every time a snapdragon 810 phone is released comments on gsmarena read: "omg epic fail! Y no snapdragon 820???!!!1"
And now it finally happened: "omg snadpragon 820 epic fail lulz!!!!1 y no 830???"
AnonD-233406, 14 Oct 2015lol. start practising alreadyTried it.Literally and still impossible for me because you know....Obama. LOL
Qualcomm is fabless, so news is worthless. It would depend on available techprocess from semiconductors that accept orders from third parties - Samsung and TSMC.
