notspammer, 18 Oct 2015This is just pr move from intel, intel lost billion dollar on their mobile division every year... moreIntel have the cash to burn to get a foothold in the mobile chip market. Of course they're going to start with crappy low cost chips. But they can easily go further once they have credibility and iron out the edges. Their 14nm is supposedly better too.

If Apple adds 2 more cores it won't face any problems regarding heat or whatever.

Space may be the problem with the current design. But in 1-2 iterations quad-core is fated for Apple, and at that time no snapdragon will stay close.

Anonymous, 18 Oct 2015I feel sorry for android users. Still in denial I see....There is no denial.
Apple following the android scene by implementing next year quad core soc.

At the moment their single core performance is top notch but then again their apps are designed for single core processing.

Otoh, hex core and octa core soc on android platform are much more better performing especially in multitask operating system.

Apple is sadly following this format with hexcore planned in A10 in iPhone 7.

Only in your dreams buddy. The 2 cores in A9 occupy similar space to octa-core Socs in Android world. Increase the core count any further with the same powerful cores, it would be another SD 810. In tablet Soc, apple can do even better, due to the larger space available, not in mobile Socs.
