Its pity how ignorant you are about India.Its not only the Budget Smartphone market.Even the costliest phones sell here like hell.Although its a minor percentage of the country's population,but still big in numbers.And mind you,last year,when Apple sales had been declining throughout.It was only India where they registered a 92% growth!
And its not our PM but the greedy Apple to blame for the price increase.Import duties haven't been increased.Its the same as before.Dollar to Rupee price also cannot justify the huge price rise.And this comes from an APPLE FAN.

both mp4 and MKV files, MKVs with AC3 or DTS audio codec.....
& They play flawlessly

This is funny. 'India is the third largest smartphone market' is an incomplete sentence. Its more like India is largest budget phone market. We cant really compare India to US or China. People in India using smartphones can't afford high end phone like these countries.
As for people blaming Apple for high prices, blame your PM for that. He increased the import duty, not Apple.

There would always be people with different lifestyle in any part of the world (crorepathis in indian context). So this number does not surprise me at all.
What is surprising & funny is - Almost 10% of world population (500 million people out of 5 billion) have iphones AND ifanboys are still having that "Exclusive club feeling" and comparing it to Ferrari/BMW etc. And calling Android fanboys as "Cannot afford", "Jealousy" etc.

ha ha ha ... APPLE can't fool INDIAN's as they do in US ;china etc. Because INDIAN's believes in practical performance that samsung provides . It will never be possible for APPLE to compete with SAMSUNG in INDIA.That's why SAMSUNG has 45% market share in INDIA for smartphones price above $500 . SAMSUNG give real and practical performance and when you use you can feel the power.
AS now i am having S6 EDGE+ and whenever i see or use this masterpiece this always put a smile on my face. Its a work of art. if you are a practical person and doesn't value art, don't buy it. I have the silver one and im loving it :) and whenever on of my Apple friend see it his AS* is on FIRE.....
