A Note 4 user, 19 Oct 2015Well, those of us that want custom ROMs, will get Snapdragon version anyway.Custom Rom lock down has been more of a carrier issue,.
If these is in fact are to go head-to-head with 620, I doubt they will run on hexa-core, they more likely are to operate on octa-core
AnonD-446990, 20 Oct 2015I doubt that, SD is staying for a while yet.that is a good point, but i was talking about preformance , but yes. i didnt think of that one ,
:)

Anonymous, 19 Oct 2015LIE !!! 7880 is basically Exynos 5430!!! Look at processor speeds. Rebranded 5430.The Exynos 7880 it's probably a similar SOC to Snapdragon 620. The A72 cores have the same frequency as in the 7880 as in the 620, just need to know if the Exynos 7880 has the same configuration as the Snapdragon 620 or in other words: A72x4+A53x4.
AnonD-456617, 19 Oct 2015Samsung wants to replace most OEMs ;) Let's see where this lands upYes. It will end up with 100% Samsung in house device. They even make glass call Turtle Glass to replace Cornings. Soon enough they will replace Mali GPU with their own in house GPU by 2017. Then they will build pretty much everything by themselves. I hope Tizen is not in the list.
Vaio Agent, 19 Oct 2015Not LPDDR4 ram like iPhone?iPhone is mid-range...?
Anonymous, 19 Oct 201528nm? Noooo. If it was built on 14nm, it would be better than this year's top Exynos. That's the point, they shouldn't be better than flagship Exynos. They should be cheap and fast enough for midragne devices.
DarkStar, 19 Oct 2015The Exynos 5430 that powered Samsung's midrange phones this year were built on a 20nm process,... moreExynos 5430 is a 2014 flagship SoC, that's why it's build in 20nm process. Those new Exynoses were meant to be midrange SoCs from the very beginning.
The korean characters say 7650 is hexa core 2x a72 and 4x a53, while the 7880 is octa 4x for both.
AnonD-265341, 19 Oct 2015Sad to say but i think it's the end for the dragon. In the high end, may be, IF SD 820 turns out to be another flop. But in mid-range, Qualcomm is still producing the better chipsets performance wise. So I don't think Qualcomm is going to be completely out of business anytime soon.
The Exynos 5430 that powered Samsung's midrange phones this year were built on a 20nm process, seems like a step backwards to move to 28nm for next year's midrange.

Anonymous, 19 Oct 2015LIE !!! 7880 is basically Exynos 5430!!! Look at processor speeds. Rebranded 5430.No, it is not a rebranded 5430, because 7880 it has an A72x4 and A53x4 octo-core processor and is 64 bit and the 5430 it is an octo-core with A15+A7 cores of 32 bit. Remember that A72 tech is almost 4 times more powerful than A15.
