AnonD-416078, 20 Oct 2015So Who is fighting Whom? and Do I need to watch the prequels to understand this one? I think is wise to watch the original trilogy, episodes 4,5,6. Story wise the prequel trilogy (1-3) is a waste of time, although you get some cool lightsaber fights the rest is bad actors, bad plot and full green screen footage.
You can also read the comics "Star Wars - the Shattered Empire" which serve has preview and link between the the Episode 6 and 7

Now this is what we've been waiting for since the original 3 episodes. As for the guy who made the star trek comment... Grow up! Both Star Wars and star trek are good in their own right.. Although I have to admit I never got this excited about any new star trek film.
