There might be an import tariff. And sales tax. And higher operating costs such as salaries. And the 2 year mandatory warranty which can get expensive if the device breaks a lot.
ashyjay92, 20 Oct 2015HTC should just declare bankruptcy, if this phone was to be competitive it'd need to £30... moreHeck even Huawei Honor & 64 GB or Huawei G-8 or Lenovo Vibe S-1 are better options than this crap. Like totally!
AnonD-147044, 20 Oct 2015it's a boring phone anyways so who cares? Iphone alternative? Seriously? it has mediocre specs... moreExactly, what I was thinking. Since M7 till M9, HTC had an excuse that they were putting some very costly and heavy speakers which really needed some space, so all those huge bezels. But now, when they have removed those front facing speakers, why then all those bezels? Doesn't make ANY sense at all.
it's a boring phone anyways so who cares? Iphone alternative? Seriously? it has mediocre specs at best. And they put a homebutton with fingerprint scanner in there but it still has those ugly software buttons?? when you're already making the bezel bigger for the homebutton and fingerprint scanner then why not make hardware back and multitask buttons as well? Already due to that I will refuse to buy it.
OH NO! Indian prices will be high too. What's wrong ?? All the Nexus, iPhone have a huge price difference than USA.

I was going to buy M9 for my wife because she liked design and materials. Now I'm definitely not going to because I feel insulted with these european prices for A9 and don't want to spend even dime of my hard earned money to HTC product. It's like a spit in face to loyal customers who were waiting for good device and willing to support company with their money and feedbacks. HTC must (not should) apologize for this insult.
HTC should just declare bankruptcy, if this phone was to be competitive it'd need to £300 for that 32gb/3gb model, as you could just buy a one plus 2, or a moto X, instead of £429 for a redesigned one M7.
My father has the M8, which I convinced him to buy.
Now I am on a new mission, convince people not to buy HTC...
If it was £300 and the 32gb version I'd buy it but at 429£ I could buy an s6 and have 20£ spare change to spend on a case/etc. This isn't fair it's almost twice the price on the uk especially when you take into account the version us uk folk are getting. Disappointed
More profiteering at Europe's/UK cost, the usual just swap dollar sign for pound ,don't bother with the exchange rate, more profit for us then...
If this is meant to be another device that is going to save HTC,well,it's not,HTC lost it when they stopped reading and learning on xda forum, they made two decent phones since the hd2,if HTC want to Dave themselves,I suggest they start listening to their existing customers and not some mythical Chinese or us customer.
HTC have had it..
Unless they start to read and listen again..

It will more expensive than Samsung S6, in Europe. Here the S6 is already less than 500 euros and it's a flagship. Bad move HTC.
I'm very sorry for HTC eventually they will disappear from mobile Market if they will continue like this bad phones small battery life very expensive they need something fresh something new I'm disappointed I own an awesome HTC m7 and its still running like new I eventually hope they will bring something awsome please HTC raise again
