so figuring this phone cost around say $800 , then to import it to the uk you would have import duty of around 20 pounds sterling and a 20% vat so you would be looking at it costing an additional 200 compared to the usa.

Anonymous, 21 Oct 2015It'd be nice if Sony (and all tech companies) started charging the same in the UK and europe a... moredid you ever take the time to think , it isnt just swapping symbols , and more to do with import taxes , duties, red tape, bureaucratic nightmares and stuff like that being the reason why its higher. some countries have virtual protectionist taxes on imports, just so there local companies have no real competition. could be wrong just saying

I think I did ok getting the a Regular Z5 and paying £49 for a Sony HDR-AZ1VR. As if I don't like it, I could sell it for more than I paid for it

Will be interesting to compare 950XL and Z5P web&video battery test, using S810 and slightly different sizes,resolutions,OS, cant wait... for now price difference is obvious(~200euro).

Umbilical Noose, 21 Oct 2015Why not just take back your goodies and reduce the price by the same amount?It'd be nice if Sony (and all tech companies) started charging the same in the UK and europe as they do in America, rather than just swap the currency symbols. Notice how the phone is nearly a thousand dollars when converted, when it's likely three hundred less in US prices.
The free stuff in lieu of that's a nice gesture, if a bit hollow.
